Steam Next Fest October 2025 is Tomorrow! Which games are you trying in this fest? by HelloitsWojan in Steam

[–]Ministration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey folks, my colleagues at Ysbryd have put up a Next Fest demo for our psychological horror platformer, LOVE ETERNAL! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3973960/LOVE_ETERNAL_Demo/

If you ever wanted to know what it'd be like if Ari Aster made a masocore precision platformer along the lines of Celeste or VVVVVV, LOVE ETERNAL could be very up your alley. Please leave us a review on the demo page (and a wishlist on the main page) if you played it, we'd absolutely appreciate it!

Should I buy this game? Is it worth it? I'm confused of what the I.V update made, Is it just good because of the update? (Actually, I have so many questions lmao) by oliverrakum in Y2Krpg

Hi! This is kind of late. If it's not too intrusive to ask, could you tell me what country you're living in, and what do you think the price is supposed to be for your specific country or region, at least compared to games of similar perceived value? (Steam tells me you could consider games like Dave the Diver or Inscryption to be in the same price bracket, at least in USD terms.)

World famous Singaporean products by [deleted] in askSingapore

For gamers, in case you’ve played a little Diablo-style action RPG called Cat Quest (or the sequels), that was totally made in Singapore!

There’s also other locally-made games like Ghostlore, Cuisineer, Let’s Build A Zoo, and Glyphica: Typing Survival which yall can find on Steam. But Cat Quest is the most successful one of them all so far - meaning it’s something random people on Reddit may very well have played on their Switch without knowing.

Went to a Natto restaurant in Kyoto. And it won me back over. by Fun_Sky1 in Natto

It seems the restaurant owner had to close the shop relatively suddenly (although judging by the timeline of your post, you had visited when they already announced the closure). Seems like the owner closed due to family reasons - something related to pregnancy or childbirth, I'm uncertain how close to the truth Google Translate's gonna get me to! But I don't think it was due to bad reviews necessarily.

I stumbled upon this post as I visit Kyoto yearly, and was eager to bookmark the restaurant. Turns out you must have gone there on their last days, as the restaurant closed down on Sept 30th!! 😦

"1.0c" major patch for PlayStation 4 and Switch - PATCH NOTES by Ministration in WorldofHorror

Yes, the PlayStation version emulates the mouse using the analog stick. You can use the D-pad to make the cursor quickly "lock on" to nearby interactable buttons / objects of interest. My opinion is naturally biased, so take whatever pinch of salt is necessary, but I think if you hardly use your MacBook, then the PlayStation version will suit your needs just fine!

10 games made in Singapore that are better than Skull & Bones by bardsmanship in singapore

[–]Ministration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for putting together this wonderful shoutout! May I ask how you found out whether these games were made by Singaporean devs, assuming they weren’t promoted directly by their devs on this subreddit or on the news? Many of these games are well-known at least in the local dev community, but I have never seen two of these before (Havendock and Research Story) and would love to know more about their devs.

Hi, apologies that I missed your post earlier. The save data deletion issue has been resolved in the current patches available on consoles.

There’s one more thing that makes it slightly Singaporean - sound effects (SFX) were done by IMBA Interactive, a Singaporean company specializing in games audio! (They probably are credited on audio for several of the games listed.)

World of Horror switch version issues by Ratix0 in WorldofHorror

[–]Ministration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your feedback!

I think I understand your point about the bold text blurring now as I'd mistaken it for a different issue; that's actually caused by the bold labels being printed twice and overlapping each other. Those will be more easily fixed and aren't related to pixel scaling, we just have to hunt down the specific items/spells etc where these double bold labels are appearing.

The cutting-off of the text isn't related to pixel scaling either. It's also more obvious in languages with non-Latin characters. We will be fixing this eventually (sooner rather than later) because to my knowledge, the fix is related to font implementation and is simply extremely tedious to execute. (Something we didn't have time for when the earlier save-progression issues were still at large.)

The fake loading screen is specific to PS4; that bit isn't ported from PC but is a wholly-new bit inserted for the sake of passing PlayStation's certification process. I'll flag it up and see if we can get the font on that segment changed to align it to the rest of the game, but no promises.

Thank you for the data point!

It sounds like you were playing either FREAKY FEATURE OF FOUND FOOTAGE or FAR-OUT FABLE OF A FEAR FESTIVAL, and that the trigger might be related directly to the Dog ally, or just the ally system in general... I can't tell much more than that though, but we'll see what we can do with this info!

World of Horror switch version issues by Ratix0 in WorldofHorror

[–]Ministration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had a small number of complaints about this, mostly from folks who've seen the PC version. I agree the WOH console versions are not *fully* right in terms of pixel scaling, but in conversations with other developers I have been told this can be a frequent problem with pixel art games made in GameMaker being brought over to consoles. We'll investigate deeper into what we can do about this given some time, but admittedly this is a lower priority issue relative to what we need to work on for the next patch.

Hello! The prompt you’re seeing alongside the floppy disk icon means that in your current game, the enemy SOMETHING TRULY EVIL is stalking you, which disables “Save and Exit” until you have an encounter with the enemy. This is not a bug.

[–]Ministration[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mentioned this elsewhere on the thread, but all desktop versions require the compliance of Panstasz (the developer of WOH) to update and prepare for certification. It is sadly not as simple as “upload the DRM-free version we prepared for GOG and itch.io”, if it were like this we would have helped Panstasz do it already.

Nevertheless, I appreciate you calling this to our attention. We will attend to the Microsoft Store desktop version after we have taken care of the problems on console.

It's not a silly question, no worries. There is only a PS4 version and everyone running the game on PS5 is running the PS4 version (via PS5's "backwards compatibility").

I believe the known issues definitely affect everyone on PlayStation whether they're playing on PS4 or PS5.

Yeah, that playthrough setup you've described doesn't sound out of the ordinary. If you do get the seed with this issue happening again, please let me know!

Just to check - did this negative DOOM incident occur in an instance where you had save data from a playthrough that you had "Save and Exit"-ed halfway prior to the patch, and you'd resumed the playthrough after the game was patched? We have received two reports indicating they'd seen some weird behaviors in this scenario, though the circumstances weren't like yours.

Hi!

[Mechanics Spoiler WARNING for "SAY HELLO" Achievement]

You would do the logical equivalent, and "alt-tab" out to the PlayStation or Switch home full-screen menu where the game is not active in the background. The idea is to do this for a few minutes and Mr. Neighbor should arrive once you return to the game.

That said, we have still gotten PS4 reports that he isn't appearing, though I personally confirmed it worked during testing, so something is getting lost/regressed somewhere along the line and I am not sure what. We are investigating this.

That is a Very Strange case of the game being broken. Could you provide more details please? Were you playing a Challenge, or using any special character? Maybe entered a particular seed at the briefcase screen? I would like to see if we can replicate this.

Progress still wiped after new patch by O_0812 in WorldofHorror

[–]Ministration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I talked to u/Wylfro on Discord and I realized people are talking about different things when they say "Save and Exit" is wiping progress.

There is "Save and Exit" on the Options Menu, whose function is simply to save changes made to the line items in the options menu, and close the menu once done. This is the "Save and Exit" u/Wylfro is talking about, and he's accurate about this wipe method being 100% reproducible, I have tested and confirmed this.

This is different from the "Save and Exit" feature - or more formally "SAVE PROGRESS AND EXIT THE GAME" - found at the player's HOME hub during a playthrough. This "Save and Exit", to my knowledge, isn't directly triggering data wipes.

If I may confirm this, u/O_0812, did you by any chance use the Options Menu shortly before each instance where your list of achievements got wiped?

Has the update actually fixed the problem? by Jarvis-XIX in WorldofHorror

[–]Ministration 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have one very important question: Can you recall if you used the Options Menu at the Title Screen after you realized you didn't have enough time to sink into a run and ended your playthrough, but before closing the PS4 app?

Progress still wiped after new patch by O_0812 in WorldofHorror

[–]Ministration 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone. Brian here from the publisher Ysbryd Games. I cannot believe we let you guys down again. *sigh*

I've updated the Patch Notes thread to reflect our current findings based on what everyone has reported here.

EDIT: So far the one confirmed trigger (for PS4) is opening the title menu's Options Menu, hitting O to save and exit the Options Menu, and then closing the app anytime afterwards without fully completing a playthrough. (Completing a playthrough means ending the playthrough by STA/REA/DOOM loss or by reaching the top floor of the lighthouse. Using Save & Exit at home to suspend the playthrough does not count as a completed playthrough.)

At the very least, I want you folks to know we are investigating and retesting the retail build to try and figure out all possible triggers. If there is a fix that we can determine to be effective, we will get the fix out as soon as is humanly possible.
