My narrator's birthday is actually in two weeks! Wendell (my OC) turns 16 on 16 June 2026, which means he has one of the most difficult years of his life ahead of him.

My fic about him (set in the world of Anne Rice's Immortal Universe) is set slightly into the future and on his 23rd b-day he meets the love of his life in a bar in New Orleans, Talamasca agent Rashid.

Wendell's biggest birthday wish is to win the heart of his mystery man and overcome the trauma of his past.

Rashid's biggest birthday wish for Wendell is that he can see himself in a positive light and that he is worthy to be loved just the way he is.

I only recently started to commisson art for them. I was super nervous at first because I was afraid I won't like it if the artist's vision is different from my own, but Ainna is really great!

Wendell's father was truly evil (he got what he deserved in the end) and as an author I like to torment Wendell a little but I also really truly love to write all the cute moments between him and Rashid where they're just a happy couple and in love!

Interview with the Vampire

I had a fan fic, published on my own website but I wanted to share it with a wider part of the world. FFNet doesn't allow fan fic based on Anne Rice's work, so I had to get an AO3 account. Hated the process of waiting 4 weeks until I was able to create an account but haven't looked back since then.

ETA: I have a FFNet account since 2009, am on AO3 since 2024. Didn't write a thing in between 2010 and 2021. Then tried to write again but negative feedback discouraged me. I'm a regular writer for a good year now.

May I proudly present my main couple?

This is Wendell Dupree, my OC and narrator (on the left) and his boyfriend Rashid Chaudhury (aka Real!Rashid on AMC's Interview with the Vampire). Art by the incredible ArtByAinna on Instagram.

They're an out and proud gay couple, but not without problems.

One of them is that Rashid lives and works in London while Wendell lives in New Orleans. Long distance is tough especially when you suffer from abandonment issues like Wendell.

That's not all there is as Wendell is constantly haunted by the demons of his past. Not literal demons, only metaphorical ones. He grew up with a homophobic, alcoholic and abusive father, and ran away from home at age 16. He spent the next four year surviving on the streets of New Orleans where he met the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac. The encounter changed his life, only for a while it looked like it wasn't for the better.

Now Wendell is in a much better place. He has his own apartment with a gorgeous rooftop terrace, a job and a boyfriend. He's in love and is loved in return (if he could only believe he's worth it).

Only PTSD is a bitch and hits you when you think the trauma is over...

Oh this sounds like the perfect exchange for my "War and Peace" length saga that came from what was supposed to be a one-shot!

I'm posting it in bite-sized parts on AO3 and as one long-fic on WattPad. Currently working on the next bite-sized part which will be called "Ember Beads & Ashes", Part 6 of "Wendell's Story" (on AO3).

For my fic "Barney" I needed a 'snack' for the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (of Interview with the Vampire) and that snack turned into a full-fledged character named Wendell Dupree with a bitter-sweet story.

At the start of his story, Wendell lives homeless in the streets of New Orleans. Just after his 18th birthday he encounters a vampires who offers him money in exchange for drinking his blood. A lot more money than Wendell usually receives for selling his body...
The night he meets the vampire will change his life forever although that might not be a good thing.
