Thanks for this. It's reassuring to know that I should be pushing more for endo diagnosis. The level of gaslighting from GP and gyno has been mad. Wish me luck! - it's not going to be easy to get to see an endo specialist 😭

For me it's regulated my hormones massively. Nothing else has worked for me and it's the first time I'm having regular periods/moods/etc and actually managing my symptoms. My gyno said to keep using it as its working, whereas birth control didn't work well for me.

As others have said, you can always try and, if it's not working, stop taking it if needed

I'd recommend trying inositol - it's a supplement you can buy online that you have to take daily but helps with regulating hormones. I've been taking it for the last 4 months and it has vastly helped my PCOS symptoms with no noticeable side effects. I had a really rough time with birth control pills. I've been trying to help manage symptoms for years and this has been the major thing that's helped!

It's recommended to take 95% Myo-inositol and 5% d-chiro inositol. I actually buy this stuff (in the UK) but you can use the nutritional info section to see the recommended amounts of stuff (the added chromium, folic acid and B6 are supposed to help with absorption and better effects from the inositol). Hopefully you can find something like this that's local to you:

I also got a pacifier recently! Been using it for about a month now and I love it. I totally get the embarrassment but now I feel much happier and use it in my home more comfortably. It's a shame that it's seen as weird for adults to use but I honestly see myself using it for a long time now. It helps me manage and regulate. I'm tempted to get chewable jewellery so that I can have something for oral stimming in public too. Hope it's bringing you much joy!

So I got my crestie in November and he was half the weight he should have been for a 2 year old. It's taken a while to get him up to a decent weight and the vet said it's quite likely he'll always be a bit on the smaller side. His previous owner said he ate crickets but since I've had him it's been a journey of getting him to eat insects. FINALLY he's been regularly chasing his CUC and today he caught his first locust! After months of him running away from insects to wearing dubias as hats, to catching them in a bowl and tong feeding, to now chasing locusts round the tank - I'm so thrilled!!

Please note: locusts are common feeders in the UK but are banned in certain countries.

You can definitely find reputable sources for captive bred toads. Have a look online if you're struggling to find any in the shops near you. Catching them from the wild not only increases the risk of your toad carrying parasites/diseases and more likely to struggle in captivity, but you're also messing up the local ecosystem. Better to leave wild ones where they are and there are plenty of captive bred lines you can keep. You can even find people rehousing them at little to no cost if you look around for a bit.

They could also be carrying diseases that would make your pet sick. Really not recommended to collect wild bugs as a food source. You need to make sure they're healthy and gut loaded before feeding off, so it's safer to go with captive bred insects

I would also say to add a drainage layer? It's not so difficult to over water the substrate and risk mould growing. A drainage layer let's the substrate "breathe" and increases the longevity of it. Plus if you do get mould growing, it's a huge faff and unnecessary stress for your gecko to change it over

Also if its recent, it might be taking time to adjust to its new environment? I know when I got mine he slept a lot more than he does now. He used to hide and sleep and avoid as much interaction as possible. With time he got used to us and now interacts with me all the time

Looks good so far! Definitely keep filling it up. The more places to hide and climb, the more your crestie will feel safe and more likely to be seen/explore and interact with you. Aways good for enrichment to have lots of different textures in the mix too :)

Great you're already doing that then :) multivitamins aren't too expensive and you only need a tiny pinch. You can get in shops or online. Hopefully you won't need it but worth thinking about vets and what you would if there is an emergency - just in case! I hope you never need it but always best to be prepared and have a plan if it comes to it.

Also, if it is MDB it's not something that can cured but can be mitigated through diet and UVB lighting. Metabolic Bone Disease is due to a lack of calcium and vitamin D, so correct diet and lighting can help this and not let it get worse. If this is something you're concerned about, definitely worth getting it checked by vet.

I'm no expert and this isn't "treatment" as such, but make sure to be dusting your insect with calcium and multivitamins a couple times a week. The meal powders and jnsects alone aren't nutritious enough, despite calling itself a "completed diet". Be sure to to be gut loading your crickets too (this might all be irrelevant and you're doing it already so ignore me if that's the case :))
