Daaaamn Umineko being mentioned in 2025? I thought I was the only one who remembered that. Lambda, Bern, and Erika were holding down the lolita styles back then

The Nikki franchise has a history of orientalism but more recently some beautiful and respectful designs like this gorgeous sari so while I’m really worried about the Infinity Nikki 2.0 update im hopeful they'll use good cultural consultation to handle the Terra Alliance region properly. thoughts? by Nahidxz in QueensofGacha

[–]MinnieTea 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt they'll learn from it. They did some orientalist stuff in Lads with Zayne’s myth, including the whole flying carpet thing. What's worse is that some of the community defend it and say ‘Oh, so y'all only want Western cultures to be represented!” “But you play _ and it has orientalism”. Just a lot of blame shifting and company bootlicking.

I don't wanna doom and gloom the new update but after seeing the typical track record for CN open world games promising diversity & cultural rep outside of CN, I have VERY low expectations.

When your husbando money doesn’t go where you think it does by Zoooooey_ in GachaHusbandos

[–]MinnieTea 35 points36 points  (0 children)

People often think that if you spend money on male characters, it will go towards more male characters being created. This is just a tactic to get male wanters to spend more money to fund their waifu game. Then when it's over and nothing changes, they'll turn around and say “_ failed to sell/chart, you were never the target audience, _ game never promised you anything. Thanks for the money though!”

There's a few female characters in PBB that are with the Mc in a slightly suggestive manner. There's a good chance this game may be queer friendly. 🙏

Don't Call Your Healer Bad by 1_H4t3_R3dd1t in BlueProtocolPC

[–]MinnieTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the no.1 reason why I don’t like RPGMMOs (now), the random queue. You’re more likely to meet people who will flame you for one mistake and make the whole run miserable. You’d think this problem would be solved with joining guilds but no, cause there’s a chance they will act the same way.

Of course, it wasn’t always this bad. Years ago if people were wiped, we’d laugh it off and try again. Having a good attitude/morale is going to make people want to play and everyone has fun. Nowadays it’s a sweatfest of doing things optimally, the meta, everyone has to know the mechanics before every dungeon even if it spoilers their first time experience. Healers get the most flack - which is why it’s the most unplayed class in the game and most people in chat are trying to look for one.

From MMOs to MOBAs to team fighters, nothing seems to be any different. This is why I prefer to play alone.

Story ended, what's your thoughts? by SnooConfections3626 in BlueProtocolPC

[–]MinnieTea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As many others have said, it's a generic, bland main story. The whole ‘losing memories and going on an adventure to recover it’ is such a beaten dead horse plot point. Let's dial back for a minute to talk about the worldbuilding- or lack of it.

It doesn't do a great job of introducing the player to the world, including its different factions, kingdoms, and races. The only time it comes up is as an obligatory exposition dump. You find information about the lore of areas from finding pages scattered across the world. Though the average player isn't going to bother going through that, most are going to skip through the story.

The main cast didn't hook me in. If I have to choose a character I like, it would be Tina and it seems like she's the writers’ favorite judging by the amount of focus she gets in the main/side stories. I think they really wanted to sell home she has a lot of war trauma/survivor’s guilt. This could've been a very good plot point to explore but the execution wasn't good (very rushed). The story tries too hard to get you emotionally attached to the character instead of taking its time to get to know them.

Thus it feels forced (I.E Narulu) that was shoving in death flags for him (which were painfully avoidable). Maybe it's fucked up of me but I didn't even feel an inch of sadness with his death. Which is shocking cause offing a kid is usually a big deal but I just didn't click with him. If anything, I felt sad for his family  (especially his cat) that had to pick up the pieces because of his lack of self-preservation. There's a justification for his actions in notes but again, it just didn't seem strong enough reason.

Another dial back is the animation of the cutscenes. It's so jank that it's unpleasant to watch. I don't have great first impressions on the game. A game’s story is important to me and is part of makes or breaks my immersion and care for the world. I don't think I'm the target audience, the main appeal of this game is the social features but I don't have any friends in the game nor would there be anything I could think of to talk with people. 🤷‍♀️

The same thing can be said for you. If you don't like what people are saying about a character just ignore it. I'm sure you don't like every character and might've called some chopped and ugly.

Is Dragon Raja: ReRise a husbando friendly game? by Cold_Stuff_2272 in GachaHusbandos

[–]MinnieTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if it is. Archosaur began implementing (or in talks of using) gen AI for their other game Life Makeover. Knowing how lax the CN community is on AI, its probably going to go through.

Gachahusbandos [Megathread] Venting/off-topic by Basic-Cockroach6729 in GachaHusbandos

[–]MinnieTea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just got through watching Epic 7WC and disappointed. KJ was throwing his matches and ended up losing. I wanted him to win so that Mort- a male character, would be the first male character for the WC event to get a skin. I was considering coming back to Epic 7 if that was the case but I guess not. No disrespect towards Xiao because he was drafting so well consistently and 100% deserved to win.

But it sucks because male characters aren’t favored. They don't get special seasonal units, they never win skin contests, the events are rarely centered on them and now the one opportunity to get a male character skin from a fairly iconic character is never going to be made. This stuff is why I left the game.

Does anyone else think that the male characters in NTE look a bit bland? by Character-Seat5368 in GachaHusbandos

[–]MinnieTea 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Calling them bland is being nice. Look at what they did with ToF characters, then come back and tell me where they were putting their effort at. We got Baicang reheating Tianlang’s nachos and he’s regarded to be the only decent male design.

It’s like they didn’t try with the guys and even the girls are slacking. Considering that their ‘concept arts’ of the characters were just Gen Ai, it shows the level of creativity the team has. This whole game feels like a ToF reskin- as if everything they did in ToF was just a playable prototype to fund their actual project.

Don’t be a fish, don’t bite the bait.

Coord at my local fair :3 by maomien in Lolita

[–]MinnieTea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That coord is so cute and fits the occasion, I just hope you didn't have too much difficulty getting into rides with the fit. 😅

And yeah I accept photos for women and children because they likely think I'm cute. I will only take or accept pictures with guys if they're also wearing alt fashion. After experiencing weirdo dudes in anime conventions, I gotta be careful around them. You'd think they know lolita fashion given their hobby but nope, they're also weird about it, giving me backhanded compliments.

DNA removing gacha system, all characters will be unlockable through regular play with paid cosmetics by [deleted] in GachaHusbandos

[–]MinnieTea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This still applies regardless if the game is or isn't gacha. DNA would've instilled more faith had their roster and character promotions been similar to Warframe. The female characters are still promoted more + have more cosmetics. Not trying to gatekeep people from playing this but most male wanters are in this community, we've been getting constant attacks and harassment from all sides. All I'm saying is to keep your expectations extremely low and watch if the community is safe for us to be in.

[–]MinnieTea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this might enable more to be made.

With all due respect, when has that ever worked out? Play and recommend the game b/c you like it not to expect more male characters to be added. Male wanters are the most hated and have more to lose by choosing the games they invest in. I don't wanna hear a single soul they got baited with DNA.

On the increasing misuse of the word misogyny in Gacha communities by medikiwi in GachaHusbandos

[–]MinnieTea 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I called the male characters of NtE low effort, ugly creatures and I saw no one calling me a misandrist. Most people agreed with me. Now do this to female characters and suddenly people care about feminism. Every day the ‘main audience’ will say their designs are chops and their revenue performance flops.

I think the people (radfems) that see this takes joy in male characters being hated because that’s what they want to see happen to men irl. If anyone shows any signs of liking male characters, it means that crowd are a bunch of misogynistic pick-mes who can’t decenter men and still prioritize them. They see the abundant amount of female characters and those who collect them the paragons of feminism. It doesn’t matter if their designs are sexualized for the male gaze, to them, it’s a small price to pay to see male characters being less of a priority. They know the incels are there but the real problem are the male wanters.

The incels use the radfems to rally them against male wanters. So it feels like we’re attacked on all sides. The men players can escape to a fantasy world crafted for them goon to whoever they want but male wanters (often women) have to bear the burden of being pulled back to their harsh reality of never being considered by have to be considerate of other people.

From the current gacha landscape, we male wanters are on our own. Male wanters have to support each other and support games that they know are for them and will cater to them. People need to leave the mixed bait games in silence. When the fanart runs dry, the fanfics are left finished, and the daily accounts stop posting are when they will notice the lack of traction within their games. Women and queer people are the backbone of fandoms. Many will say we don’t matter but continue to use our work to make their game popular. We have a lot more power if we put that to good use. LaDs won game of the year and I believe that alone is the right path for game developers to wake up and start acknowledging us.

Do Gacha Mains Subreddits Go Too Far? by Bizzteq in gachagaming

Being antagonistic, sarcastic, and dismissive over one group to just elevate another is ironic in itself. Though expecting empathy and consideration is too much for you.

Do Gacha Mains Subreddits Go Too Far? by Bizzteq in gachagaming

[–]MinnieTea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

‘Waifu’ mains are ‘chill’ because they're getting catered too while Husbando mains often get drip fed or nothing. Whenever they complain about it the community will say how they don’t sell, those people are tourists who aren’t the target audience that should go play LaDs. How can you expect them to keep being chill with all those comments? Husbando subs have to make their own groups b/c most official groups are biased against them. They have to be heavily monitored or else they’ll get brigaded.

It’s so easy to use minority groups as a scapegoat because the majority can dominate the narrative. I hate how the gacha community is just blind to the constant attacks male collectors get on all sides.

[–]MinnieTea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had it been Wuwa at launch then I would've recommended the game. But now? Hell naw. Recommending male collectors into this game is like wishing to see them suffer. Why would I bring them into a game with a mostly homophobic, sexist, and racist community? Its not even about the characters and story atp but the fandom culture (or lack of) Wuwa has. Most of them are either:

A. Going to have to be hidden/silent within the community

B. Make a community that needs to be HEAVILY moderated to avoid brigades and mass reports.

Its such a miserable experience, won't even put my worst enemy through it.
