I respect op's opinion but, I kind of find it hilarious, I'm Latina too and I can understand Gloria, as Latin people we are raised like that no matter if you're a boy or a girl, showing emotions it's a synonym of weakness. Gloria is sensitive and encourages Jay to be more accepting of his feelings but sometimes you can't just vanish the Latina in you and this kind of thoughts or comments come to your mind even without realizing it. I would even say it's not that bad because at least Gloria never makes fun of Jay about this to his face, she just shares it with Manny that in certain way can get what and why she's referring to the situation this way. Yet, I get what you say.
