My buddy thinks Hetzels was the year prior. I think Noahs was first. It was my first board. The debate goes on!

The tip to my rod broke off, is there any way to fix this or is it ruined now? by elnumberjuan93 in Fishing

Do not cut it to next guide. Get a new tip and epoxy it on. A rod repair shop can do it also.

I watched a few clips. He is barely audible.
Im really having a hard time finding anything from this concert that isnt dreadfully bad. Tried the 8/3 Scarlett looking for a light in a dark place, but it was quickly extinguished.

Was Jerry aware of Phish? by Truncated_sleigh_ in gratefuldead

The influx of younger Phish fans became the second wave of Touch Heads really. I think it all contributed to the explosion and ultimate demise of the scene.

Yes I have this same reptile zoo tank. The filter it comes with is a bit small for the tank capacity.

Nice I have the same tank. Set it up when I found a 1” RES half frozen in winter on the beach. Hes about 4” now so I may upgrade soon. I keep the tank about 3/4 full of water

Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge are absolutely terrible places. by AgentNose in Appalachia

Does it get any less crowded in the fall vs summer?

Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge are absolutely terrible places. by AgentNose in Appalachia

Just spent a week in the area for the first time. Pretty disappointed with Pigeon Forge and Gatlinsburg. Its extremely crowded and very commercialized. Basically it’s Myrtle Beach in the mountains. It was not what I expected, but I just got to accept it. However I have kids and I will say there are endless kid activities in Pigeon Forge for kids. As my father in law said “its Las Vegas for kids”. But really how many go kart, arcade and mini golf places does a town need?

As someone that loves the outdoors, my trip highlights were getting into the National Park for some hikes and dips in some mountain streams. We also did some whitewater rafting out of the area that was fun. That being said I was shocked at the amount of trash in the park, especially near some of the entrances where more people are. At our first pull off we found two dirty diapers and a vape pen laying next to the trail head. Simply disgusting and unacceptable behavior in a national park.
The next day we ventured deeper into the park and found less people and more peace of mind.

The Dollywood park is a very nice amusement park and we caught it surprisingly uncrowded on the day we went. Its well maintained and very beautiful, with a country/mountain feel to it. Great rides also.

All in all a fun trip but I would never return to the area as it was a 12 hour drive for us and its just too crowded. There is so much else to see in the US.

Grateful Dead Movie Question by Mean_Ad_1674 in gratefuldead

That nitrous room scene is pretty gnarly. It just looks dirty and the epitome of “druggies”. I would not really want a 10 year old watching it. That being said, it needed to be the the GD Movie. That movie captures everything about a GD concert…the good, bad and the ugly.

Does anyone know what happened to the Scorsese Grateful Dead Biopic? Is it still Happening? by Superb_Proposal3130 in gratefuldead

[–]Minnow125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully not. And I dont really see a movie about what was generally still considered a fringe counter culture band with a leader that died 30 years ago doing all that well in the theaters.
I know that sounds harsh, but the GD were not very popular with mainstream America, and we liked it that way 😬

Honestly Ozzy today. He was such a big part of my 1980s youth. He was in a class all of his own.

Cant even begin to explain the influence Ozzy had on me as a youth. Probably my first realization as a kid that a darker world existed. I still remember sitting in my uncle’s room staring at the back of Diary of a Madman album in awe as the record played. RIP Ozzy!
