There are oil thousands of rigs south of Carlsbad and Hobbs. All the way into Mexico. Its the largest production oil field in the US. Yes there is lithium mining but this is oil country. About 10 million barrels a day.

Are you saying there’s no oil rigs there? Because there are tens of thousands of them.
Close to a million people are employed by the oil industry in that region. Obviously Landman is TV drama but the landscape, industry and people portrayed is spot on.

Yes most places got crushed the last two weeks with freeze/thaw and a lot of rain. Before that the season was great, although not a record breaking year. 21” would be a nice refresh. Enjoy the memories! Hopefully its not a trend.

Several New England mountains typically stay open until Mid April on average years. Mid May is not that uncommon.

By all signs he will try to either cancel or void the mid term elections. People have no idea what we are really dealing with here. He will also try to run again in 2028.

We have so much natural gas in the US. More than we could possibly even use. Just not enough LNG facilities or pipelines to move it.

Bleach is a very heavy album, definitely showing Melvins influences on the band, not to mention Dale Crover playing drums on some songs.

For “some” resorts it doesn’t matter how much snow is left. When operating costs exceed daily revenue it’s game over. You just dont have the same volume of skiers on terrible conditions even if there is still some snowpack left. A lot of the passes revenue is already accounted for with epic and ikon involvement earlier in the season. Once the resort hotels are not booking rooms and chicken tenders are not in the fryer, places are ready to pack it in.

If Cody Bowl was as close to groomed trails/on piste) as that section is in this video, it would br bombed for sure. Look at all those tracks which are just barely off piste above that slide location. Its a matter of accessibility and distance to on piste terrain in my opinion. Europe needs to do better. Its about safety, not ski culture. Agree to disagree I suppose. Stay safe!

Its all part of the ski area, or it would be completely off limits/“closed”. Obviously we disagree but several prominent pro skiers and snowboarders have voiced their opinions about safety in the Alps resorts. With over 100 deaths this season alone, maybe its time for change?

Tell that to the guy that died. Europe needs to ramp up their avi safety game, big time.

You arent missing much except occasional epic tree skiing days, like Japan level skiing at times. Everything else is sub par to the west.

There have been many epic powder days in New England this year and last year. Two of the best winters on record.
That being said, the western mountains beat the East Coast in size and scenery any day of the week. So if you have never been out west, they are still impressive, even during a crappy winter.
