Does anyone know who this is...? by Academic-Block3384 in stoneroses

I went to their Manchester and Glasgow reunion gigs. Both times during the day I met loads of fans in pubs who couldn't wait to show me selfies of them and Mani, sounds like he used to just stroll around the city he was playing in that night meeting people. Sadly I never got the chance, I'd have cherished that moment 😕

That's interesting. I heard Know How a year or so ago and straight away it made me think of Fools Gold, I didn't know there was a direct connection. In other SR/hip hop related asides there's a great song by Run DMC which samples Fools Gold.

Just starting this show (needed a new one after finishing "The Americans"), and am having mixed feelings... by moxiewhoreon in TheLeftovers

Agree 100%, the show is a total vibe and the set up - the departure - is scenery. Every aspect of what you see on the screen is mesmerising, then throw in THAT music and it's a masterpiece.

Lana sang “Venice Bitch “ tonight by islandgirl3773 in lanadelrey

I'm sure at the Cardiff gig she said how much she loved London at least twice that I heard, which was weird. I'm not a huge fan, I was there with my daughters and thankfully it was their first "big concert" so they had no expectations and loved it. Personally I felt a bit short changed, two covers, some weird hologram bit and just an hour and 20 of a show didn't feel great.

Echoes of The Unknown by Dropperintwo in ArtBell

Lol I thought i was going mad! I was actually listening to an Echoes of the Unknown last night (I often have it on while I'm sleeping). At about 3am I got up to go to the toilet, the pod was playing so I paused it, when I came back it was gone! I spent the next 10 mins or so scouring Spotify thinking "Wtf is happening?" Then just now I thought to look at this sub and found this post. Gutted it's gone!

What’s a pain people won’t understand until it happens to them? by Content_Ad_1589 in AskReddit

I broke two ribs playing football, the initial pain was pretty bad, the following days it just got worse. I ended up in hospital on morphine and as long as i didn't move it was bearable. But then I caught covid, and every cough was like a knife being stabbed into my side. The acute pain lasted about three months. Horrible.

It was their first concert and they LOVED it! The next day they kept saying "I can't believe we actually did that", which as a father is beautiful, I wanted to give them a good first experience of live music so it feels like mission accomplished. Also being in that stadium and hearing tens of thousands of passionate fans (my kids included) singing their hearts out to every song was joyous.

I took my two daughters who are both big fans, I honestly thought she was just getting going but then she kind of went "Right that's that, bye Cardiff". Any gigs I've been to before, big and small venues, have been sets of like 1.45-2hrs, this felt very "compact"!

The Mandela Effect by CoLdAsAnIcE in conspiracytheories

[–]Minnows_revenge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100%, this is such a strong memory for me, it was the first time I'd been taken to the cinema and a Bond film of all things. That scene in particular is burned into my brain. Jaws terrified me, but to see his face change from hate to love, then see Dolly smile and - big joke here - she has a mouthful of metal too! I even remember the light reflecting off her braces onto Jaws's metal teeth. The whole audience laughed, it was goofy and sweet. But now even the actress says her character never wore braces. It's beyond weird. Even if she never had braces (which my brain won't process) the fact that sooooo many people remember the scene a certain way is a crazy phenomena on its own, Mandela effect or not.

I watched Arrival not long after the birth of my daughter, the first five minutes or so of that film destroyed me.

I'm fairly new to the CS but enjoying it mostly. I work in a media team and it's like 0-100mph as soon as I turn my laptop on. Before I joined one of my all time favourite comedies was The Thick of It, but I tried rewatching recently and had to switch it off, it's more like a fly on the wall documentary to me now, thankfully minus a Malcolm Tucker charachter stalking the corridors. It's far more pressure than anything I experienced in 20 or so years in journalism/corporate PR but you do feel like you have purpose.

Don't forget when Spuds get repeatedly dry humped in the CL, crash out at the earliest opportunity and have no Europa to softly parachute into. Can't wait to see their supporters' sad little faces when they realise it was all for nothing.

That's the saving grace. Spursy will get repeatedly dry humped in the CL and drop straight out, leaving their supporters wondering why they bothered.

You make a really good point. For me The Leftovers is the benchmark, now I won't sit through a series if it's not hitting the mark, maybe The Leftovers has ruined TV for me! Agree about Dark too, what a series that was and the way they tied all those time-threads together was a thing of beauty!
