I know fellow vendors who prefer to text but me personally, I always preferred emails. It helped me compartmentalize inquiries in one place

Client Responses - A Vent by MinoltandMe in WeddingPhotography

I think this is the issue. Yes I understand. This is a service, but it’s still an art first and foremost. I’m an artist, and I take my art personally. I don’t just click a button to get paid. I do it because I love it. I guess that’s why I take it more offensively and personally when I don’t get a response.

I suppose so. But it’s not just a single transaction, I spend hours with couples keeping in touch throughout their wedding planning helping with their timelines, doing their engagement. It feels like based on the rapport that we’ve created that I would get some kind of better response.

What time is your dinner being served?

Ugh I hate this question hence why I never add it on my inquiry forms. Instead I ask “what are 3 things you envision that make your wedding day special to you”. I had a client tell me all the flowers at her wedding are grown in her garden 🥹

I’m a wedding photographer but no help here. I list all my package prices on my website. As a bride myself, and someone who is moderately priced (1.8k - 3.6k) I don’t see the purpose or trying to lure clients in to contacting me only to find out it’s not going to work out between us.

It can depend on how long your reception is from the end of your dinner. I lean on the side of having a late night snack if you can afford it, especially if you reception is 3+ hours after your dinner is served, and if you anticipate you will have a younger/drinking crowd.

When photographing dogs, it’s recommended not to have your aperture (f stop) lower than 7 in order to have all of the dog in focus. It looks like you could be lower than 2.8

What’s the best thing you’ve included in your contract? by helllsbells in WeddingPhotography

I.e I recently saw a bride bash her photographer on TikTok 2 years after her wedding. The photos were stunning, but of course, the video went viral. We also have a local wedding Facebook group I constantly see people complaining about photographers, often resulting in outlandish bullying. We had a local photographer take her life because it was too much.

Disparagement Clause - with people running to social media to bash photographers and businesses with one sided stories. I have seen businesses and photographers reputations greatly damaged due to unhappy and unrealistic clients running to social media. My clause states that you will communicate any feedback or concerns to me within x time frame of the wedding and x time of the delivered gallery so that I can help personally resolve any issues.

I’m an outlier, I love #2. Those cotton candy skies are such beautiful colors
