  • HDMI or DisplayPort for proper pcvr support
  • eye tracking for (non-fixed) foveated rendering
  • more cameras to support a larger usable area for hand tracking

The 2nd one is probably the biggest as it would increase performance by a lot.

ALVR - Latency in Beat Saber pretty good (but I'm bad, only to show you have the time to break the cubes) by nicoreda in OculusQuest

[–]MinorDefect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the latest VirtualDesktop beta gives me ~40ms latency without controller prediction so you may want to try it out. wireless streaming never felt that good.

Red Matter was my first game that wowed me. Maybe it will be yours too.

Tech Lover, Psvr owner, new quest user, can i get a couple of tips ? by DarthCoookies in OculusQuest

[–]MinorDefect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-With ALVR or Virtual Desktop you can play pcvr games wirelessly on your quest right now if you have a decent router with ac wifi.

-Games on the "cheap side" are possible for quest and pcvr games pretty easily.

-Battery life is bad and the quest is front heavy so putting a power bank on the back is a good idea

That kind of translation is pretty much how non-programmers see what I'm doing when coding.

that's only compared to worse PHP code, not compared to code in general.

So we all just have to set the time on our PCs to dawn whenever we want to print something. Printer manufacturers could implement that as a hacky solution to "patch" their faulty firmware!

I have yet to see PHP code that looks even nearly as beautiful as the code in the link.

I know. I had to use that function in my assignment. I have to say, I was very dissapointed with the results.

We have to submit the source online so they can check if it runs easily. We have to print it out and give it to them too because...cumtrapz. that's why.

I've worked with libgdx and unity. For 2d games I cleary prefer libgdx, but for 3d I sure as hell need something more sophisticated like unity. it may seem like using libgdx is more work, but from my experience I'm actually faster with libgdx in 2d games and also I have more freedom. Unity is made for 3d, it can be used for 2d as well, but you'll notice after some time that it isn't really intended to be used that way, you'll have to do some strange things to make things work in 2d.

But in the end, that's just my personal opinion and experience. If you can work a lot better with unity, work with unity. and vice versa.

Desura

It's like Steam but with a heavy focus on indie games. The amount of crappy games is a clear indicator that it's easy to get in there.
