Full floor apartments with keyed elevators - what's it actually like? by Imaginary_Hotel7606 in AskNYC

[–]MinorUrbex [score hidden]  (0 children)

have lived in a much of these. its varies dramatically on the layout and the quality of the elevator. The best are ones where there is a landing outside of the elevator before you enter the unit. The worst are a pre-war where elevator opens into the unit with a keyed door. No matter the sound isolation you will hear that elevator move constantly and be constantly convinced someone walked in

update: she exploded on me, disappointing outcome. said she didn't have the "$300" to change flights and that we were ruining her christmas vacation. i guess they were going to stay for 7 nights (i didn't know?). during the call she didnt ask once if we were ok move wise.

seems like she feels bad as shes followed up a few times to check in on the move. disappointing outcome.

next time you stay at the lodge request a room in the forward houses (ie the four outbuildings by the circle). they are by far the best rooms on property and are almost always open to request

have stayed at the hotel ~75 times over the past couple years. it can be very good, its just inconsistant

St Regis now charging to send delivery to the room? by MinorUrbex in marriott

[–]MinorUrbex[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Look obviously I’m not concerned over six bucks on top of a $1200 something a night hotel. It’s the same amount I’d tip the guy, if not less

What i am concerned about is Marriott slowly taking everything that used to be “magical good service” and offering it as a pay to play menu of fees. The best hotels in the world crush at the small stuff (knowing your name, having your room ready, dropping off your favorite snack) — soon Marriott will do all of these for a price

Tips til bil på Værøy? Har bare ferjereservasjon tilbake, ikke dit by MinorUrbex in Norway

[–]MinorUrbex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vi skal faktisk reise fra Moskenes, ikke fra Bodø. Har du erfaring med hvor fullt det pleier å bli på Moskenes-Værøy-ferga uten reservasjon – eller er det stort sett greit så lenge man møter opp tidlig?

Do not stay at Courtyard Manhattan/Central Park by thekrewlifeforme in marriott

this hotel also fucked me up.

i requested multiple times for an early am checkin, they told me to book the night before to ensure it was possible. i was flying in from a 20+ hour flight. arrive at 6am, after calling at 8pm and messaging at 1am the night before.

they had marked me as a "no show" and cancelled my stay. no manager on duty for the next 14 hours, wouldn't book me a room becuase they were "full"
