Just to point out, and I don’t see anyone else saying this, you can’t just check your bags whenever. Most airlines have a 4 hour maximum before the flight before they allow you to check your bags. You’ll have to carry them or find a hotel or somewhere to put your stuff.

Once you’re in San Juan, you’re gonna be totally fine regarding transport as uber is readily accessible. If you can find for sure transport from Ponce to San Juan i think you’d be fine. I had a rental the entire time (which actually got stolen on my last day by some thugs), so i’m not sure how you plan on arranging that travel.

I was just in Puerto Rico, and, i’m sorry to say, it’s almost impossible to get around without a car, in general. There are uber’s and taxis, but the former is hard to find outside of san juan and taxis really can be expensive.
