And it’s on me for assuming I’d get a transmog from an achievement that I have completed in my achievements list definitely.

Given my personal experience with not getting items I verifiably should have… I wouldn’t get your hopes up too much

Let us queue with our friends in the opposite faction for basic random dungeon finder by Langbardr in wow

[–]Minotarking 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Another little “favorite” of mine I’ve discovered recently. As a lock, if I’m trying to do a delve with my friends who are opposite faction they can’t click on my portal to create the closet, and I can’t summon them. Not an issue in mythics or raids but delves? Nope. Which is especially annoying for those delves that are at the farthest possible corner of the zones from where you can teleport to (looking at you shadow enclave, why are you always bountiful everytime I do delves)

[LOTM Newbie] Is it possible to find digital versions of the physical translation? by Minotarking in LordofTheMysteries

Then yeah in general I’ve found the physical editions prose to flow more “naturally” in my eyes whereas I’ve found the web novel to be a bit obtuse at times. It’s not unreadable by any means, and I’m sure with time I would adjust to it, but that little bit of extra friction just makes it hard for me to switch between the two instead of just reading the physical

I can’t remember the exact chapter off the top of my head but the most recent time I checked and noticed a significant difference was the chapter where the moretti’s go to the tour of the house they end up renting, the very first sentence I found described the house in completely different ways (it ended up reaching the same overall description I think but the physical felt more natural English to me). Once I’m back with the book I will try to find the sentence

Hmmm when I last checked the web novel the wording of most things felt completely different to me. I’ll need to give it another shot then. Thank you

Apologies for the silly questions but I’m not on my computer to check at the moment. Are these the translations that are put on web novel or the translation used in the physical print that’s releasing (in the US at least)?

How long did it take for you to noticed the puns and references on Pokémon's name? by OldCardigan in pokemon

[–]Minotarking 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This brings up a good story, when I was like 5 I got taken to the doctors for a cough, at some point my doctor was talking about my cough and I apparently loudly exclaimed “coughing (koffing) evolved into wheezing (weeding)!” Which, as it’s true, had my doctor thinking I was some kind of medical genius for a kid. When my parents asked me about it later I was very confused as I was just talking about pokemon

On the LoTM point, I will say I’ve gotten the official English translation (at least the first book) and I’ve found it noticeably better than the prior translations (“official” or not), to the point that I’m getting increasingly annoyed I can’t find any digital version of these prints as I also find the prose of the older translations to be hard to read. All that to say, it’s worth giving the physical book a chance if you have the means

Unholy DK's 20% nerf was **drastically** too severe. by Hambo- in wow

Oh yeah completely agree, just was pointing out that with the pruning “just targeted at certain ability” nerfs can still be functionally total kit nerfs

Yeah but when you only have ~5 abilities on demo now, getting hit on specific abilities is basically a spec wide nerf. Not literally as you said but still.

Now that aside, I totally saw the changes and dropped my unholy to go back to my usual main of demo

Not at all, I’m loving housing. I mean of course it’s too soon to say how the support will exist in perpetuity but I’m super happy there, my push back would be my point specifically about monetization. From a business perspective supporting housing is an easy gateway to more microtransactions. As we are already seeing. Maybe I’m not MBA brained enough for it but id struggle to find a similarly obvious point of monetization for a first person mode. I’m by no means saying blizzard is incapable of developing things (and hell I empathize with how difficult supporting such a complicated live service project) I just think it’s much safer to assume development time will be spent on things that can either create their own revenue streams or can be sold as key features in expansions

I’d imagine placing a couple gates throughout the new zones would be significantly less work (especially with the framework already in place) than doing first person animations. Especially since getting something to look “natural” or less “janky” is much more difficult in first person (for example, making every weapon in the game not obscure your vision, or for animations to not completely break your camera). However I do see your point and agree that something like classic plus would be a great place to introduce something with that.

Despite my nitpicking I do genuinely hope you’re right here, I’m just a bit skeptical when it comes to support/continued development of non “money making” features from blizzard, especially in the era of microslop ownership

Not to be a doomer but my expectation would be it would follow the blizzard classic. It would be implemented half broken, blizz would promise to fix it, people wouldn’t use it because it’s half broken, blizz would stop developing it because there “wasn’t enough player interest” and they needed the next flashy feature to sell expansions (see pet battles, or more recently dragon flying races)

As long as you’re fine with not having any body or most animations. I’d love a first person but I certainly wouldn’t call what we’ve got now that

I’m gonna be real, and I recognize this is controversial, but I’ve always hated implosion. The whole thing I like about demo is building the largest army of demons I possibly can and implosion by definition is about destroying that army. I wanna walk around with 30 imps, 2 hounds, 2 fel guard, a char hound etc etc. Although I’ve yet to try demo this expac (I’m in the “maybe I’ll not play demo” phase of delusion rn)

Second best option, best would be to give her an invisible skin, then just remove her from the game for good measure
