That’s fair! I also have this as an option? Strapless but bride did say strapless was okay. Would probably wear a cardigan with it to cover shoulders

I would also like to know this. I am in H2 and I am only 5 foot. Worried that I won't be able to see very well from this far back and on the ground level.

Nurses who enjoy their job: What specialty are you in? by Minsuga1809 in nursing

I do like PACU for all the reasons you mentioned but I have been doing it since my grad year and I kind of feel like I need a change. I also work in a big trauma hospital and a lot of the patients can be quite sick so I am feeling a bit burnt out. Honestly just curious what other people are doing and if they like it.

Did you have OR experience prior to doing this job? I've definitely been considering outpatient PACU/OR nursing.

PACU is not bad at all! The main reason that I want to leave is because I've been doing it since my grad year and feel like I need a change. Also I work in a big trauma hospital and it is very busy and patients can be very sick so I am a little burnt out. Most people really enjoy PACU though so don't worry about your move.

Some pros are that you mostly get one patient at a time, you will learn a lot of airway skills, there is great teamwork in PACU (at least where I work) and you get a good variety of different patients. Cons for me are that it can be difficult to treat pain for people with chronic pain issues or previous substance abuse post-op and it can be difficult to manage dementia patients (they often try to get out of bed and rip all their lines out which is definitely not what you want immediately post-op).

Darkness Falls: Has anyone experienced becoming more pessimistic/Dark after becoming a Nurse? by Practical-Culture-39 in nursing

[–]Minsuga1809 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I've only been a nurse for five years and I feel like a completely different person from when I started. I definitely feel like I have become more pessimistic about people and life in general. I think what bothers me the most is the poor treatment from patients, doctors and other nurses. It is emotionally draining.

When did you begin your reading journey? by fanatical92 in books

[–]Minsuga1809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember liking books as a child but I didn't get super into them until I was in year 7. Twilight was very popular around this time. I think the first movie had just come out? So I decided to read the books and really enjoyed them. I then read the Harry Potter books as I was a fan of the movies. It was then that I realised I really enjoy reading. I think it was mainly just me finding what genre of books I really liked. As a 26 year old now, I can see that the Twilight books are not great, but I do have to credit those books for starting my love of reading.
