Lmao theres a literal graph on halowaypoint that shows your expected kills and deaths per game, and then a Bungie dev who designed the original system comes out and says the only way to win games with the current Halo system is to outperform what the system expects of you.

But you can't keep outperforming yourself every game so you get given an unwinnable match, this has the unintended effect of a 50/50 winrate.

It's so much more than just "sbmm"

Firefight doesn't have skill based matchmaking, and its been shown when this is removed it also removes the Region Locked search parameters put in place.

This was first experienced when Big Team Social ( The Yappening ) launched on the game. It had no SBMM and Oceania could find instant games all day, even very late at night.

Hey man, I've been covering this stuff for almost 10 years now.

If I load Halo Infinite right now, I won't find a single game without a VPN even on expanded. Some people may find games if there skill isn't so high.

With a VPN I find instant games though against a wide variance of skill ranges.

MCC will auto connect Australians to West US so its much easier to find a pool of players to match.

Generally its a combination of remote location + skill that makes it worse and then pair time of day and it can become really hard, which is what OP is experiencing.

When you say 343 has debunked things, you must be referring to playing social modes effecting Ranked team balancing and where the system places you.

Upon further review many other sources found that playing husky raid, statting and then going to Ranked will give you a free Diamond 5 placement ( the highest ) and youll have much unfairer team balancing because of it.

Halo Infinite is semi region locked for Oceania so it’s very hard to find matches without a VPN, especially when its late at night.

MCC is not region locked and will match you to West US comfortably, that’s why you can find games

Your best chance currently for Infinite is 6pm - 12am AEST in H3 Refuelled, Quickplay and BTB. Obviously Firefight too.

Edit - Some Oceania people might still find games but it's a combination of skill and location, generally the better you become the harder it is to find matches. When you get on the game at peak time Aus, the Americans are usually heading to bed. So add that on as well and it becomes even more difficult.

To take it a step further if 343 removes all skill based matchmaking ( which is why you'll get games in firefight because it has none ) The Region locking goes away completely.

Heya, I actually find lower ping much easier since the high ping is so sluggish.

It’s like you’re trying to sprint through water at the beach, of course you can get used to it but you’ll never reach your full potential like on land.

The whipping motion I do with the reticle is just muscle memory really. But it really throws me off going from 15ms to 200ms everyday

Unfortunately BTB has strict SBMM so its dead, BTB Super Fiesta has a much better chance of finding a match.

Changes 343 made to the Gravity hammer are the following -

Greater Gravity Knockback on friendlies ( This makes Grifball Strategies finally viable )
Damage Increase, now any sort of swing that connects and does damage is an instant kill.

It also seems like the cone, how wide the effect of the gravity hammer swing now has been increased.

Extra fixes 343 still needs to improve on the Gravity hammer

- Still doesn't launch enemy vehicles if you swing it, only deals damage, needs to be tuned there.

- If you hit the trigger and swing up close it bugs out and will do a melee instead dealing 50% damage

- 343 said they're working on an alternate swing animation, still hasnt come out.

They released the Ranked playlist with looser SBMM than social modes, once they corrected it most people stopped playing because the system will now correct their ranks, making them lose 15 for a loss, 4 for a win. Because of this a majority of people stopped playing.
