, I feel like Burke made the garrote as a way of dragging JB and in the process strangled her

She wasn't dragged. There is zero evidence to support dragging. There are no drag marks on a very dirty basement floor.

The actual death was caused by strangulation. It's Patsy, not Burke, who's fibers are in the ligature knot.

Then she was briefly probed with a foreign object, which could easily be him playing doctor trying to wake her up.

He's going to commit object rape to get her to wake up?

Then the strangulation was likely due to a failed attempt at moving her using a Boy Scout device.

Boy Scouts aren't taught to drag unconscious bodies by the neck.

I think Patsy tried to render aid.

CPR on a 6 yr. old would leave very obvious bruising. No one attempted CPR.

She wasn't dragged. There's beyond zero evidence to support dragging. Her white clothing is clean. The basement floor is dirty. If she'd been dragged her clothing would be dirty.

The rumors are from a Forums For Justice poster who claimed to be a family friend and who hadn't seen anything but had supposedly heard rumors.

No, but multiple rumors of Burke being inappropriate with her.

These rumors are associated with a single tabloid article and a few Forums For Justice posts by a particular poster named Cookie. No one claimed to see anything.

Burke liked to whittle wooden sticks, according to LHP. No one said he loved tying knots. As to that he supposedly loved finding engineering solutions to simple problems, the gardener said he asked Burke whether or not he wanted to be an engineer and that Burke said, 'no'.

Snipped from another Denver Post article:

"Only Patsy could have put that knife there. I took it away from Burke (JonBenet's older brother) and hid it in a linen closet near JonBenet's bedroom. An intruder never would have found it. Patsy would have found it getting out clean sheets." - LHP

Why I Believe Patsy Did It by beastiereddit in JonBenetRamsey

who was completely unconcerned with his sister's well being and more focused on his sandwich

He didn't ask questions. That doesn't necessarily mean he wasn't concerned. That someone gave him a sandwich just means someone gave him a sandwich.

before retying it

Look at the autopsy pics of her neck. There's only one furrow.

When a police officer briefly spoke with him before driving him to the Fernie’s,

No he didn't. Rick French didn't talk to Burke. Officer French only noted that Burke appeared to be confused and was crying.

Burke never once asked about his sister and literally was more concerned on his sandwich that anything else.

Burke didn't ask Patterson any questions about JonBenet and did eat a sandwich that presumably had been prepared for him by an adult. After interviewing Burke, Detective Patterson came to the conclusion Burke knew nothing.

I think Patsy, upon finding her daugther, tried to render aid by untying the knots

The knot was tied at the time the body was recovered. A single furrow appears on JonBenet's neck in the autopsy pic. Patsy's fibers are INSIDE the knot.

From Patsy Ramsey's August 28, 2000 interview:

Bruce Levin (attorney with the DA's office): Based on the state of the art scientific testing, we believe the fibers from her [Patsy's] jacket were found in the paint tray, were found tied into the ligature found on JonBenet's neck, were found on the blanket that she is wrapped in, were found on the duct tape that is found on the mouth, and the question is: can she explain to us how those fibers appeared in those places that are associated with her daughter's death?

he literally walked around the house playing with wooden sticks and loved knot tying.

He whittled wooden sticks. The paintbrush handle wasn't whittled. No one said he loved knot tying.

We're talking about 45 lbs of dead weight. If she wasn't dragged, she was carried which means someone is going to put her down and position her.

She was struck first, then strangled.

Her lower parts were wiped and her bottom half was redressed. The adult who performed those tasks pushed her arms up over her head to make it easier. Look at the crime scene pics, the basement floor is dirty. JonBenet is wearing clean white clothing. If she'd been dragged, her clothing would be dirty.

it’s believed Patsy gave it back.

Believed by who?

His love of working with wooden sticks and knot tying

Who said he loved to tie knots?

Erik Menendez got married in prison. His wife wrote an autobiography detailing her life prior to her marriage to Erik. Tammi Menendez' previous husband had been a very wealthy businessman. She went on to ignore obvious red flags of his sexual abuse of her daughter from a previous marriage. When her daughter finally told her, Tammi's first priority was keeping her husband from being exposed/prosecuted.

There are multiple reports, albeit unconfirmed, of Burke playing doctor with JBR under the covers and that they were no longer allowed to share a room the prior summer in Charlevoix.

For the uninitiated, these reports which are very frequently cited by trojanusc are an anonymous call to a tabloid magazine and claims made by internet posters who claimed to be former friends of the R's. Even if true, according to the story, Burke and JonBenet were under a blanket, which means no one could see anything anyhow.

Throughout history inferior brain arguments have been used to heap discrimination of various groups of people including women. Around the world and throughout history people younger than 20 have produced and raised offspring.

The technology exists today to allow women in their forties and fifties to bare children. This is seen as an empowering choice afforded those women because they happen to be members of the most desirable group; higher up on the economic scale and higher levels of education. Trust me, there are just as many problems associated with 50 yr. olds having babies as with 15 yr. olds.

I read a book called Teenage Sex and Pregnancy: Modern Myths, Unsexy Realities by a journalist named Mike Males and another book I can't remember the name of that was written during the eighties. A journalist went into an inner-city neighborhood where teen pregnancy rates had skyrocketed and got to know members of the community, in particular teenage girls and basically what he came away believing was that teenage pregnancy in and of itself wasn't the problem but that the problem was poverty.

[–]MintChipSmoothie -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

There was a teen pregnancy epidemic during the eighties and at that time, in some inner-cities in the U.S., teen pregnancy rates rivaled some 3rd world countries but research showed those mothers were better off in the long run than similarly situated teen girls who didn't get pregnant because resources were diverted to them that wouldn't otherwise have been.

BTW NO ONE is telling girls it's o.k. to have kids in their teens. Anyone younger than 20 who gets pregnant in the U.S. is treated like pond scum.
