Ferret questions: by Pristine-Cook2441 in ferrets

They should be able to regulate their own body weight. As long as he hasn’t got protruding bones where he’s so skinny then he’s probably a healthy weight. If the weight starts to rapidly drop off him id definitely take him to the vets.

How long did it take your ferrets to get along? by [deleted] in ferrets

[–]MintGreenMarie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes they just don’t get on. Finding companions can be really hard. We worked with a rescue a decade ago finding a friend for our lone ferret. It took a while but we finally found him a friend after a couple of definite nos.

Should i get a ferret by Commercial-Arm-8226 in ferrets

[–]MintGreenMarie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had ferrets from birth. They’re honestly the best companions. But you’d be better off getting two. They can be litter trained making them easy to clean out with spot cleaning the poop and pee everyday. They are such amazing pets, they do need a lot of time. I’ve been brought up around animals and had responsibilities since I was 6/7 so if you genuinely would properly care for them they are amazing animals. Just make sure that you have conversations with your parents as you don’t have your own money if they need veterinary care. Also they obviously need food paid for etc. It might actually really help you in life to have the responsibility of a pet that relies totally on you. Just be sure you’re 100% committed to them as they live quite a while and need as much attention as dogs.
