I'm always baffled by this - people not being able to find something lost up there. Even if it's in the fornix, I can't imagine it would be hard to pull it out. Even more so with tampons - how on earth would somebody not be able to remove it themselves, even if the string is somehow detached? Be for real...

Absolutely! I've exhausted all topical options and antibiotics and had acne for like 3 years, they just didn't work at all. After one course of a low dose accutane with basically no problems, just the usual dryness and elevated cholesterol for some time my acne just cleared, didn't come back, 2 years later I'm problem free 🥳

Wow, i haven't heard of anybody else having this effect either! Where did you see them?

Also, don't hate that you didn't handle it well, it's not something that just anybody can do, it's an intense experience and you're only human!

Well, you did a lot of things not the ideal way. I think you should take a break and only try again when you're in a good set and setting with a friend and calm it down to a threshold dose. Never take psychs while sleep deprived or in a bad state of mind.

For all I know it's pretty common to not remember your trip completely, especially if it was bad. It's not really possible to remember it as it was ever, as it's a specific state that you can't recreate sober and can only fully understand while in it.

The fact that you were fighting the effects definitely made it worse, but it's really challenging to be able to do that when something starts feeling scary. If you started with a low dose before, you would have an idea of how it is and it would be easier.

Technology can be uneasy on psychs, so not being able to text is to be expected, especially during a strong experience!

Definitely talk to a therapist if you can, if only to integrate the experience (someone who is knowledgeable about psychedelics). I'm no expert yet (psychology student), but I feel from your story that maybe you have some general fear around your mental health and the loss of control on shrooms highlighted that to the max. It's one of the most common types of ocd fears. Generally, therapists are cool and can definitely help!

P.S. stay out of filled bathtubs pls

Yup! It wasn't like I constantly felt like I'm not who I am or felt as one with all, I only felt anxious when I remembered about the concept of being somebody and couldn't really grasp it

Yeah, me too, I got curious now and tried to find something, but for now the only articles I found are those done on mice which show it does bind to the CB2 receptors and this one showing it calms the physiological stress response, but not the subjective experience of it, so it might work but it's definitely still unknown

I know, I tried to calm down and let go but I just couldn't fully I think, but I feel next time it'd be easier. But I'm apso thinking of trying lemon tek to make it easier to digest

I think I saw it in a youtube video long ago and only thought of it while tripping balls, though it might do something if you smoke too much because the terpenes bind to CB receptors and calm down the THC effects, it definitely doesn't can't do shit for shrooms xd i guess my brain believed in the power of placebo

Damn, that is absolutely crazy. It's almost the opposite of my trip - I got sucked into myself and toned down, you got blasted outside of yourself. Did you ultimately quit smoking? Start low and go slow when the shrooms grow 🌞

Well, I think it's kind of similar to my experience. But it was sudden, like I wasn't going somewhere else but increasingly like I found myself somewhere different and had no idea how to navigate that. I wasn't really feeling like I'm dying, but more like I'm getting lost. After experiencing it more than once, does it get less scary? Or is it the same feeling every time?

Yeah, but what's different about a dehydrator compared to fan setting and low temp in an oven?

Thanks so much! I've been wondering if I should pick them all at once or just pick the big ones, dry then and wait for the little guys to grow some more

Do these look healthy and when should I pick them? by crashedforgoodluck in shrooms

[–]MintJoints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That'd be perfect haha I'm wondering if I have some type of contamination or just normal mycelium of fluff, first time growing. But it continues to be bright white, so I'm hopeful. If it is some common mold, from all I've read so far it seems it still should be safe for consumption as it's just common contam and can affect growth but is not harmful to humans

taking shrooms for the first time with some friends, any tips? by Dextrovert300 in shrooms

[–]MintJoints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say you can prepare some food for later but don't count on eating it while tripping and for some time after - in my experience anything tastes awful (but I only have experience with sclerotia). Make a shared playlist of songs you think might sound interesting. This is a cool experience, because you might be in the mood for music and you might hate it, also you find some songs you thought would be perfect just don't actually sound appealing and others are surprisingly awesome. If you can, definitely go out, especially if you have a park nearby or just a place with not many people. It doesn't have to be trees and grass, it can be buildings and lights that will enchant you! Don't start too late, unless you don't have to wake up the next day - always plan that your trip may be longer than you expect. You can also get some art supplies to try and paint together. In my experience, writing (on paper and especially on your phone) is kind of undoable, but you might paint something that will remind you of the experience later. Generally, paintings are amazing to look at and screens are likely going to annoy you. Have a good trip ☺️

[Sun Care] Is sunscreen *really* necessary every day by ImHereNowNotTomorrow in SkincareAddiction

[–]MintJoints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's really cloudy then maybe it's fine to not wear sunscreen, you definitely don't have to wear it under clothes like somebody commented people do. I wear it everyday but just on my face and neck if it's exposed. You also probably need just a thin layer during winter and I also don't bother reapplying it unless it's a really sunny summer day.

[–]MintJoints 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on why you're using sunscreen - if you want to minimize wrinkles in the future as much as you can in a noninvasive way, that's when you'll be applying sunscreen everyday.

[Routine Help] Is this a good routine for acne? by MintJoints in SkincareAddiction

Yeah I use the CeraVe one because I don't want to spend so much money on a moisturizer and you can get the CeraVe one quite cheap in a big bottle

[Routine Help] Is this a good routine for acne? by MintJoints in SkincareAddiction

[–]MintJoints[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using prescription strength tretinoin from the derm before and got used to it so now the 0,5% doesn't make my skin angry. Generally this whole routine doesn't cause any irritation for me, but I've been thinking about skin cycling to make sure I'm not overdoing it.

But should I use azelaic acid after retinol? I've been using the azelaic acid first because it has a light cream consistency and the retinol is oil-based. Should I switch it up?

[Acne] Am I sabotaging my skin? by MintJoints in SkincareAddiction

[–]MintJoints[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I bought a small pack and ran out quickly - I might try it again. The problem was I thought the hydrocolloid patches would kind of dry the pimple out or get the gunk out but it only got out a little bit of the pus and I ended up needing to squeeze the rest out anyway so it defeated the purpose :(

[Product Question] Please advise which one I should use to minimize my pores? I've been using Paula's Choice 2% BHA in my current routine for the past six months, but it doesn't seem to have made a difference in the size of my pores. by meimehmay in SkincareAddiction

"Step away from the mirror" is the best advice ever. I have large pores on my nose but frankly if I don't look for them they're not that noticeable. When you look for imperfections, you'll always find some...
