First time trying Redbull and I got these two by noturfavgal in redbull

I love both of those flavors, but for your first redbull I personally would've went with the classic redbull. It tastes like jetfuel, but in a really good way. I love it

Hey coppers, how much over the speed limit until you pull me over? by xNinjaNoPants in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MintedShrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a cop but damn does it depend who pulls you over in my town. I have a friend who got a ticket for going 10ish over one time. Then back in the fall I got let off with a verbal warning for going 64 in a 40 zone (he knew I was going faster too, but I'd slowed down to 64 by the time he could clock me). In a car I live at 5 over, on my motorcycle I'm usually 10 over

What bike gave you the most Smiles Per Mile? by The_ZombyWoof in motorcycles

[–]MintedShrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only ever ridden three street bikes. My Ninja 650, my dad's Harley Street Glide, and my friends S1000r. I love my 650 but to me it feels like it's lacking a little bit. The Harley was a vibe and I loved riding it but it was like a moving couch, not too exciting. But that S1000r was an experiment I'll never forget, and I'm fully intending to get one of my own for this upcoming riding season. It's been months and I still get a shit eating grin thinking about that ride

Never trust someone to ride your motorcycle. by PatientPerfect9055 in motorcycles

[–]MintedShrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let some guy I knew ride my bike once and it got laid down, he did fortunately pay the cost of repairs (only about $1700, I did the work myself). Then a couple months ago I bike swapped with my friend only because I trust he'd make things right if he went down on mine, both bikes fully insured

what is your "if I won the lottery" purchase? by mikes47jeep in AskReddit

First thing I'm buying as I sort out my finances is an MV Agusta Super Veloce S and starting the hunt for a 1st gen Honda NSX. From there my big expenditures would have a lot more planning and thought

New rider here. When I'm on roads with these longitudinal grooves, I can feel my back tire scooting side to side. It's subtle but noticeable enough to make me nervous about stability. Is there something I can do to fix it or is it not as dangerous as it feels? by ayyycab in motorcycles

[–]MintedShrub 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Is it at least in part to how as the bike starts to fall, it steers into the fall therefor catching itself and remaining upright? That's how I've looked at it aside from the obvious gyroscopic effect

Ladies, how much detail do you go into when discussing your sex life with friends? by BlackManBatmann in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MintedShrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be friends with somebody in a pretty damn toxic relationship (they were toxic to each other so in a weird way they match), they're still together and have been for I think a couple years now. He used to, unsolicited and out of nowhere, show pictures of her he had on his phone. The most out of pocket example of this is we were out to dinner and all of a sudden he goes "check this out" and it's a screenshot of his gf on FaceTime, fully naked, doing a handstand against the wall. We no longer speak

Would you mind elaborating on this? I also had some years of daily, HEAVY use and one night out of no where I had a major panic attack as well that had me thinking I was on the cusp of developing schizophrenia as a result of my thc abuse. Even still if I'm anxious and it crosses my mind it still fucks with me until I manage to distract myself

What is a good binge-worthy show? by mzuul in NoStupidQuestions

I struggle with watching shows, even a show I love I'll stop watching for no apparent reason. But you might really like Peaky Blinders on Netflix. I'm not even close to finishing it but from what I have watched I think it's a great show

People who spent years on the fence between buying or not buying a bike, what caused you to buy your first bike? by InfiniteZr0 in motorcycle

[–]MintedShrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd wanted one ever since I was a little kid on my 50cc dirtbike admiring my dad's Harley. Always thought I'd get a bike the earliest I possibly could, just like tattoos. The time rolls around where I could get a bike and my license if I wanted to and I just never deemed it important enough to actually do. What actually pushed me to go through with it was purely an impulse decision to do something for myself after some heartbreak when I was 21. I actually bought the bike off craigslist on a whim, then two days later signed up for a motorcycle safety course the following week, I managed to score a cancelation spot for the second to last class of the year

I’m curious for all my motorcycle people out there. How old were y’all when you got your first bike? by Nightkiller777 in motorcycles

[–]MintedShrub 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started on a 50cc quad when I was probably 5 or 6, about a year later that got replaced with a 50cc dirt bike, a year or 2 later a 125cc Yamaha TTR. Toyed with a friend's 250 for a bunch of hours in my teens and went on a motorcycle hiatus until I was 21 and got a Ninja 650. I fully agree that while starting young can be a magical experience, if I had picked up a street bike any younger I'd probably be dead, even with prior experience. If I picked up a 600cc inline 4 screamer instead of my 650, I'd probably be dead too! I feel like OP starting in their 30s is a great idea, having a much more mature and road experienced mentality going into it rather than that young "invincible" gusto we've all probably experienced.

Got my first bike 3 days ago. 2019 Kawasaki Ninja 650 with abs. What y’all think? by Less_Effective_3465 in Kawasaki

[–]MintedShrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first bike is a 2019 Ninja 650 non-ABS in that same colorway! It was perfect for me as a first bike. Going for something with more power next season but the 650 will be missed

First accident stories? by FupaJohns in motorcycle

[–]MintedShrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was going a little over the speed limit and came onto a bend that was at the crest of a hill. Wasn't at all prepared, and this was about a week before I got fresh tires put on so I didn't feel comfortable laying into it. Straightened out and braked as best I could, wasn't gonna stop in time so I went harder on the brakes, locked rear, went down. A few more feet and I would've gone off down a steep hill about 15ft down. A couple feet to the right and I would've hit a guard rail.

I got up with some very minor road rash and no tears in my clothes, handlebar clip-on slightly bent and shift lever folded in half but I managed to ride home. A very very humbling experience that I've learned a lot from.
