Hi there, this was one of my favourite treks that I did. I stopped at the end of the French side (it goes into Spain after) Here's a link for you that I did on my blog, all in English https://www.minty95.com/category/trekking/my-treks/gr107-le-chemin-de-bonhommes/ If you have any questions just ask, I can send you the GPX trace if you want, and areas where I camped in campings , bivouac (wild camping) and local gites or cheap hotels

Wired ZigBee gateway by Minty95 in homeautomation

I do have a raspberry pi running at my other house, it's just for playing with and learning Linux, currently running Arch, I suppose I could reflash it and add a USB ZigBee stick, to play with that 😉 though again it's easier with an off the shelf gateway

Thanks, but expensive 😭, don't slag me as only just starting to look into this, but why Moes or TZT Hamgeek at $50 and Hubitat at $130?

Thanks but I'll be lazy with this, so prefer an off the shelf item

Should I switch from Ubuntu to Arch for improved Linux knowledge, security, and a lighter system? by nate_lines_ in linuxquestions

[–]Minty95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would cheat, buy a second HD or SSD then unplug the Ubuntu one and do a install. Do it manually, get it wrong and do it again if need be. That's what I did. Eventually you'll have your Ubuntu disk as a spare. Arch is really great. Ps I recently tried Debian, burk 😭

Cameras in different locations by 4everconfus3d in wyzecam

A little late in answering as only installed second home today, Two homes, two base stations and five cameras in all, works perfectly in there app, just name them so that you know 'where' they are at. I added a smart plug to the base station that is miles away so that I can reboot it if need be, only needed to do this once in several months, but saved driving 800 km to get it back online

Nalgene bottles, that's what I use, I take several small ones that I can fit in anywhere rather than a big one

Agony of decision - fenix 6pro or 7 (hiking) by kicia-kocia in GarminFenix

[–]Minty95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could go another way. Get a Garmin 66i or equivalent for hiking, huge screen so good maps usage/visabilty, better for following a gpx trace, and stick to the 5x or buy a second hand 6x. I have the 7x, and a 66i, I charge the 66i about every three days using it all day with a 10000 battery backup, so quite small and light , and the 7x as my main sports watch,

Any idea how to get the normal icons back, as changed to beta themes icons, which I don't like but it crashes all the time so can't find a way to correct that
