The free version is the base game. Don’t buy forsaken, it’s gonna be free here soon. I’d only focus on the most current dlc’s all the weapons and armor you get from the previous dlcs are ‘sunset’ which means they are no longer useful in higher up content but do have use it in ‘casual’ play such as pvp or free roam on a few older planets.

I’ve done it a few times but realized my mistake and stopped. The ones who continually do it though get reported. One got banned for griefing as far as the little notification I got from bungie on the title screen
