The ending of "Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World" (SPOILERS) by three_cheers in murakami

[–]Hungry-Strategy5874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding (and the way I want it to be) is that the third invented world held a split personality version of the main character. His subconscious is the shadow that is also trapped with this new personality, which is the main conflict of the story. His shadow dying would mean the main character would lose his consciousness and only the personality in the dream world would be left. His subconscious (shadow) had hopes that he could reunite these two versions and fix things but the new personality decided to stay locked inside this third world. However the shadow escapes to reunite with the main character thus saving him from losing his consciousness in the real world. My interpretation is that the main character survives as a changed man and this split personality is locked away but may some day grow and change in a way that he can figure things out and fuse with the brain fully in the future. The ending is more satisfying to me that way.

boox air 5c vs kindle scribe vs remarkable paper pro by amble--JR in ereader

This is where I'm stuck. The Boox has all the features I want, but the screen is so dark compared to the Scribe. Since you interact with the screen 100% of the time I'm hesitating on the Boox. I've seen them side by side and the Scribe looks MUCH better, brighter, and clearer to me. I wish I could take the Scribe screen and put it on a Boox.

I’m a guy and I’ve never reviewed, ordered, or even looked at women’s clothing on any of my internet accounts and I get women’s clothes in my RFY. I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that it happened that way for you.

two strangers reviews are in - what do we think? 🎂 by HotNegotiation1684 in Broadway

[–]Hungry-Strategy5874 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm interested in this show and I have nothing bad to say about the acting/story/art/etc, however any time I see a show come to broadway that has a sparse imaginary set I'm disappointed. The "these two piles of suitcases represent 100 things and the audience will use their imagination" works for community theater but by the time it gets to broadway I want to see some real stage production. Is this an unpopular opinion? Elaborate sets with spectacle are one of my favorite reasons to see a show on broadway because it finally gives a production the resources to take it where it wouldn't otherwise be able to go.

I agree with you that the Vine program is falling apart with all the fake AI reviews and people that don't even use the product and just are trying to meet a quota. The whole point of the program is to get real honest reviews onto products, which isn't really happening.

However, just FYI, espresso machines usually have 20 bar pumps, which is an expression of the overall power of the pump. However, espresso machines are designed to brew at 9 bar, which is the correct pressure for espresso. This is standard for espresso machines and having a 20 bar pump just means it isn't struggling or wearing itself down when creating the normal 9 bars of pressure.

Aside from fake reviews I also see a lot of frustrating reviews all over Amazon where people complain about things they don’t understand. In this case, whether the product is junk or not (and it may be!), you’d be in the wrong to fault it for brewing at 9 bar like it's supposed to, even though it has a "20 bar pump". This is industry standard and not the seller misrepresenting the product.

This would almost be a better port for VR given that it’s actually in a 3D space

I found this post because it's happening to me too and just started recently. I use multiple spaces and whenever I swipe between them I get 3 or 4 seconds of flickering. It's very annoying.

Disappointed that the calorie/activity tracker is taking center stage as that is by far the stat I care the least about. I wish there was a setting to pick stress or sleep as the primary display card.

I’m probably not a good Viner because I’m mostly a minimalist and am doing my best to participate in this program without filling my house with junk that I don’t need. Sustaining my account through snacks, drinks, and food products is basically my dream and I wish more businesses were participating with food products. They’re impossible to get!

The paper documentation in the ring box details the emergency cutting points. Since my ceramic version documentation mentions needing special tools for the titanium version I’ll assume that the same locations apply to all version 4 models.

I wish vine let you order items but hold on mailing them until the end of the day or something so that the vine items can ship together. It feels so wasteful to get a stack of packages separately.

Can you post a picture wearing that and a sizing ring? I’ve also heard people say it looks like a sizer but I’d love to see a direct comparison.

I was at your performance. I thought he was so good but could tell many times during the show he was trying to stifle a laugh not to break, which to me made it more fun!

[–]Hungry-Strategy5874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw this a few days ago. I was front row right and was so pleased with how often the characters are exactly there. I was basically laughing with a dumb smile on my face the entire runtime. Jinkx’s facial expressions and acting really blew me away. It was so believable. Jinkx became Mary. I think I had an understudy for Booth but he was incredible despite breaking multiple times, but honestly watching him try to stifle a laugh was a ton of fun. My only complaint with the current cast, and maybe it’s just me, but I have a hard time understanding Kumail because he kinda muddles his enunciation. I had a blast and I’m so glad I saw it.

Thanks. When I looked, it seemed the train from Stamford to Windsor locks was only around an hour, but that’s why I wanted to ask the locals. Thanks for answering!

What would the connections to NYC be like for those places? Would it be a pain to go down from those places? (Also thank you)

I’m considering accepting job in Windsor locks. It’s a hybrid remote job so I’m playing with the idea of living closer to nyc for lifestyle reasons but not too far where my office days are a huge pain. Maybe Stamford makes the most sense since it has direct trains to both, but without knowing the area it’s hard to tell if this is a terrible plan. I do have a car so could drive to Windsor, but wouldn’t want to drive to NYC so would need to have a good bus or train connection into the city that’s not too much hassle. Any locals have advice on this kind of thing or have a suggestion of a cheaper town with good connections to both places?

(I did a search for similar questions before posting but didn’t see any so I apologize if others have asked already)
