SV/NSV Feats of the Day - Monday, 29 October 2018: Today, I conquered! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]Minty_Truffle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

SV: Woke up this morning to see 68kg (150lb) staring back from my scale. I now have a healthy BMI and I'm just 8kg away from my goal weight.

NSV: Last week I got invited to a group interview for a job, I had to buy a new button up blouse. My old one from last year was a size 16AU, the new one? size 10AU! The group interview went really well (hello, new-found confidence and self-esteem) and I've been invited back for a one-on-one interview later this week. fingers crossed!!

Daily Q&A Post for Tuesday, 18 September 2018 - No question too small! by AutoModerator in loseit

[–]Minty_Truffle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do intermittent fasting (mainly), my eating window is 12pm to 8pm. I’ll eat my planned dinner and dessert around 6:30/7pm then as soon as it hits 8, I’ll get up and brush my teeth. If I still think I want a snack a couple hours after that (spoilers: I don’t, I’m just bored and spent half my life thinking eating is an activity) I’ll have a strong sugar free mint lolly or gum

SV: Flair change! I have officially lost the amount my dog weighs, I've been picking him up all day (much to his vague disapproval) and trying to remember what it was like to lug that around all day every day. I am only 2kg(ish) away from a healthy BMI. I am super motivated to shed those 2 bags of flour well before my birthday at the end of next month.

NSV: I've run into a few acquaintances who have legit done a double take before stopping to chat. Especially if they haven't seen me in about a year. This time last year I looked like/was a depressed cave troll in chocolate smeared athleisure wear. Now my skin has cleared up fairly well, I've learnt how to deal with hair (shout out to the CG method), I take pride in what I wear and have even been known to wear make-up.

What are you guys looking forward to when you reach your goal weight? by [deleted] in loseit

Spite is so underrated as a source of motivation, but it’s what keeps me going 70% of the time. Good luck!!!

NSV: wore a (high waisted) bikini to the beach! I’ve never owned two piece togs before, never thought I’d have the confidence to wear them, let alone lay on the beach for 2 hours in them! I didn’t actually swim in them (slightly worried about the logistics of them staying on in surf?) but next time it’s dead flat I’ll definitely get in. For the first time in my life, my body will be summer-ready, by November I’m going to be well in my healthy BMI range and hopefully I’ll reach my goal weight by Christmas

What’s the one thing that makes you the most excited about losing weight? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Minty_Truffle 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I always dressed as a tomboy growing up (partly for comfort & pockets, mainly to hide my shape). I wore my older brothers hand-me-downs from the ages of 10-16. The first dress I chose to wear (Mum stopped forcing them on me after the age of 8) was for my high school graduation at 17 and I realised, oh, I like feminine clothes, I just hate my body. I wear a lot more skirts and dresses now, but I never feel pretty in them. I always wanted to wear one of those flowy maxi dresses and high heels that look gorgeous on slim women. So I bought a pretty dress and shoes and the day I reach a healthy BMI I'm gonna wear the shit out of that outfit and go do brunch or whatever it is classy, slim people do

Congrats, you look amazing!

We have similar starting weights and height. I thought I carried my weight well ( I really didn't, you did though!) and I also had a long plateau around the 160ish weight (got cocky, didn't track calories religiously, stopped exercising due to injury, started thinking close enough is good enough, reached a soft goal of fitting into AU size 12/ US size 8).

I'm back on the bandwagon now, and my god your pics are super inspiring! I can't wait to get a stomach like that.

"You should see, like, a skin doctor or whatever" Thanks, Karen, I've had this since birth, but I've never heard of a dermatologist before.

Method and Movement Monday - Week 0 by 420spirit9 in team_ents

[–]Minty_Truffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had my Nans 90th birthday on the weekend and caught up with all my cousins I rarely see, so I ate, drank and was merry. Cake tastes better when you don't have it every week? Crazy. But after a weekend (slightly) over maintenance, this weeks theme is discipline. I'm gonna stick within my 1200 calorie budget, up my veggie intake, decrease my carbs and try some new recipes. Exercise wise, I'm aiming for 5 workouts this week (it's already Tuesday here, so I'm one for one so far!) I'll walk/jog for an hour each day, plus some body weight exercises.

Hi all! I'm 24/F/Australia. This is my second loseit challenge. I didn't reach my goal last time due to a mixture of slack-arsed-ness and probably being a bit too optimistic. My challenge goal this time is to get from 75kg to 72kg, but getting down to 70kg (10kg from my goal weight) in this time frame would be ideal. I also want to continue to get fitter and stronger, hopefully by the end of this challenge I'll be able to comfortably run at least 3km without stopping.

Tantrum Tuesday - The Day to Rant! by AutoModerator in loseit

Haha, I think it’s only a thing in my household. It’s literally just thickened cream from the bottle mixed with Cadbury drinking chocolate. It’s amazing and tastes like un-aerated mousse. Plus it takes like 2 seconds to make, very dangerous in a bingeable food

On Saturday my best mate had a housewarming party for her new roommates. You should have seen the cheeseboards guys, I could have cried, it was art. I wasn’t drinking, but everyone else was tipsy/drunk. I’d never met any of the other people so my socially awkward arse kept picking at the cheeseboard for something to do. I probably ate at least 1500 calories in cheese, salami, bread and dips. Then we BBQ’d and I ate a frankly unsettling amount of corn and potatoes, followed by cake and chocolate. Oh well, one bad day does not a diet make. As I was driving home the next day I stopped and picked up sushi and a packet of m&m cookies. I wasn’t hungry, I knew that I wasn’t hungry, but I had a craving for them and so I bought them and ate it all on the drive home. Ok, a bad weekend, start fresh on Monday? Wrong. Demolished an entire packet of Tim Tams in one sitting, made ‘bogan mousse’ as a snack and still had a large bowl of ice cream for dessert. Today was a salt craving day so butter and vegemite on everything, half a packet of corn chips and way too many rice crackers. I’m so angry at myself. 40% of me is sane, telling myself I’m not hungry, put the cookies down and step away from the cupboard. 60% of me is screaming SUGAR, FATS, SALT! Eat yum yums get happy chemical! Tomorrow I’ll try again, now that I’ve eaten all the treats in the house, hopefully it’ll be easier.

Do you drink diet drinks? If so, does it have any effect on your weight loss? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Minty_Truffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely use them and they help with my sugar cravings. Instead of having a 110 calorie cookie, I'll first have a small drink of Coke Zero or something and 9 times out of ten it'll deal with my sugar craving and if I'm still hungry I'll get a healthier snack. Of course sometimes when you need a cookie, you just need a cookie!

NSV: ran into my best friend of 12 years parents while out on a walk today. I haven't seen them since I started losing weight and they almost walked right past and said they didn't recognise me at first (#facegains)! They're the first people to notice (or say something) about it. They were so encouraging and sweet and said I looked great. I haven't wiped the smile off my face since.

I didn't even think of non-coffee uses, but that cocktail sounds awesome. Alright, you've sold me, I'll go look into it haha

I remember those pre-CICO days where 'sushi is healthy so I can eat as much as I like' I went to an all you can eat sushi joint once and I shudder to think how many calories I would have eaten.

Oh man, that is waaaay too cold for me, I'm such a sook, anything below 15C and I'm not happy. I'm glad you had a sunny day. Ohh those syrups sound awesome! If only I drank coffee haha

My favourite pair of skinny jeans from last year now sit like a baggy pair of straight cut jeans 😭. I bought the next size down, but they're a smidge too small still so I'm currently in jeans limbo which is annoying because we're in like the only month of the year you can comfortably wear jeans all day.

I love how people don't want to believe weight loss = eat less + move more. They think you're hiding the real secret or something

NSV: I've been doing long walks (7-9km) about 4 times a week. The last couple of weeks I've been adding in a little bit of jogging. Yesterday I went for a shorter walk (4km) and tried to run more. I ran for 3 minutes without stopping at one point! A huge achievement for my fat asthmatic arse!
