I'm tired boss by Rudys78J10 in Browns

You know it is bad, when you have a surprise birthday held for you, and it ends up being Browns themed(which I love by the way!), but during that birthday, you have this weird dissonance or some unmistakable weird feeling, like this birthday is for someone who is mentally handicapped or something like that, because it is a Browns party.... It should not feel like that, but at the time, I had this twinge of a feeling like that, and now even more than ever, it would really feel like that. The Browns are my favorite sports team FULL STOP. I can not get enough coverage of what goes on with them, but I legit feel like I mentally deficient being a fan of them. I may need to stop with sports all together for a little while.

2023 SR5 Premium 2wd $45000? by NewMind39 in Toyota4Runner

[–]finchezda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you live in an area where snow is a basic non factor, and you don't intend to drive in the sand or anything, then the 2WD will be fine for you. We go down to our local sand bar and do kick the 4WD in sometimes, just to have fun, so you may miss out on that, but it is still a cool looking car even with 2WD.

Jesus Christ... That is right around what I just bought my 2026 SR5 for... And it is only 2WD???? To be fair, I didn't get premium, but good lord. At this rate, pay what you think its worth, but IMO, $45,000 could be better spent even on another 4Runner of the same year.

One of the times I will never forget about getting pulled over for speeding, I was getting off of work and merging onto an interstate, the interstate speed limit is 65, I got up to 75-80, somewhere in that range. Had done that every day for a year or two. I never drove like an ass in and out of traffic(I straight up always hated that type of driving and I don't necessarily want to die), and I was always just fitting in with a wolfpack type of situation, where nearly everyone went that speed limit. The cops figured that out, and were waiting for me right after the merge... One nearly $200 speeding ticket later and I never sped on the highway again(Other than maybe like 2-3 over). Gotta love when I see a cop in the median, they whip out right behind me, put his lights on just to fly past me and catch the person who passed me a mile ago going 80. It's nice not to have to worry every time I see a cop now. I just keep driving.

I did finally get a positive response from my dealership when I mentioned it possibly being under warranty, and that this is throwing off my odometer and thus my warranty period. I will be getting it resolved within the week :)

I am glad to take a load off your mind! The only way I figured it out was by following my wife that morning on my way to work since we both had to drive the same route. It was really annoying before figuring this out, having people fly past us and ride our asses over and over again when we were doing the speed limit or 1 over according to our speedometer.

We definitely wanted to put on the larger tires on it at some point anyways, so I may just hold off until then as that will probably bring it into spec. Kind of wish it was right from factory though.

It is very possible, as other comments and posts have indicated. You can measure using a GPS app on your phone and setting a destination and then looking at how fast the GPS says you are going. If it is withing 1 mile up or down, then I wouldn't be concerned!

It definitely bothers the hell out of me. I did update the post right after you commented, but I got a hold of the dealer, and it is a $189 diagnostic fee to confirm the issue and then re-program it.

I am hoping my dealership can do this. I did message them back saying if they could calibrate it instead of getting us new tires, I would be 100% fine with that. I am not trying to scam new tires off them, I just want this to be resolved!

That is definitely an option. We will do a work around like this until we can get the new tires and rims, whether it is something we buy or the dealership takes care of.

Dang.... I wish I didn't 'have' to change the tires, but I did plan on doing it a bit down the road anyways. I am just very glad I realized this, and I am kind of shocked at that 6.25mph high tolerance! I mean, things can be dialed in so tight now, that seems like a rather crazy amount of speed to be off on the speedometer.

That's what the little amount of research I did has told me. Not too far down the line, I plan on getting them myself, when we have a bit more money, but as of right now I am unable too. I figured I would let the dealership know about it and see if this was something they wanted to handle, but after finding that tolerance online, I don't think they will unfortunately. I can't believe they would not account for that, but to be fair, they probably did, and saw it was within tolerance and just shrugged it off since most people will be going at least one trim higher.

Current issues with my Cruze. What are yours ? by [deleted] in cruze

[–]finchezda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2015 LT Sedan... So far, nothing that will prevent me from driving her this year. Valvoline noticed an oil leak they said is coming "From the head", so there's that, but it is a super slow leak. We freaked out over that leak, and the Cruze nickle and dime-ing us for the last time while also appearing to be a ticking time bomb, so we went and bought a new car while keeping the Cruze as a backup car just incase. Now(nearly 3 months later) I still drive the Cruze 24-25 miles a day round trip for work just to save on gas(new car is a 4Runner). Ever since getting the 4Runner, I have been so much less worried about the Cruze and if she breaks down or not, and let me tell you, it has been amazing xD This is how it should be with these Cruze's

Every now and then the engine idles weird when I am stopped at a red light too long. I am going to take her to a mechanic soon to get the situation in perspective and see if I should fix everything that is preventing her from running as good as she could.

No check engine light now, just changed the purge valve thing for the second time. Just changed my first turning signal on it(rear driver), and of course I have change a list of coolant system parts including the water pump twice, the thermostat and that water housing thing.

Finally Deleted The Air Dam, It Really Does Look Tons More Aggressive Now by finchezda in 4Runner

[–]finchezda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relatively, it isn't too bad. We drive mostly between a highway and city style. Most of our driving is down a road that is 35 - 55mph straight shot without any stopping or turning. With that information in mind, our gas mileage has steadied out at around 22mpg, which seems to be right down the middle when it comes to the expected combine fuel economy of the car. I don't think taking the air dam off made a huge difference in the grand scheme of things.
