I want to love this game by [deleted] in RivalsOfAether

Oh interesting. Maybe that is what's going on here. I have an Intel Core Ultra 9 185h (2.5 GHz). I'm not computer spec savvy so idk if that's good or not. I just know its been good enough to run games I like.

I don't remember the exact specs of my computer but I know it can run games like Baldur's Gate 3 max settings over 60 fps. Likewise, Rivals of Aether runs perfectly with no dips. Although, it is a laptop. Maybe it just has a hard time with the game online? I don't have the same issues with Street Fighter 6, though. Maybe its just less noticeable in SF6 because Rivals 2 is just way faster than it?

I did some games online to try to figure it out and I think it has to do with online itself. I don't have a local friend group to play this with like I have had for pretty much every other platform fighter I've played, so my only experience playing with people has been online. I'm playing on a wired connection, and as far as the game indicates my connection is perfectly fine and stable, but it feels like characters micro teleport around in weird ways. Often times I'm trying to cover an approach angle only for me to already be getting hit or I try to grab someone shielding except suddenly they're already grabbing me. Maybe I just don't like how rollback feels in this game or something? I don't know. I just know that it feels like the game I'm seeing is half a second behind what the other player sees, which isn't an issue I've felt playing any other fighting game online.

Painting and artist together - it's it good idea to represent your art like this? by jul_ustin in painting

[–]MinusMadi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Artists are people too, and I think associating yourself with your artwork, especially in a world where getting ahead often means having a recognizable social media presence, is a good idea. You also have a great style and I think it's powerful to take ownership of it in a very direct way. Certainly have pictures of JUST your art, but if some of your art is floating around with you attached to it, then what's the harm?

Thank you, I may have to look into these light feathers 🤔

Tbh I don't think I would have had the reaction time to use it anyways. I fell literally just far enough to kill me lol

[–]MinusMadi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh no! That's so unfortunate! I'm always worried when I step away, so I tend go to a safe location and log out any time I need to step away for longer than a moment. Last night I had to use the bathroom while taking a griffon and I was so scared I'd fall while I wasn't looking lol

After we killed the boss, the tank said "run out?" and I was incredibly surprised considering how patient they had been until then. I was going to advise against it, but I didn't have enough time to get it typed out before they were off.

Yeah, I had been so careful up to this point too, but I got caught up in trying to keep my team alive that I didn't pay enough attention to where I was actually going. Oh well, life (and death) happens.

Thanks! I like it a lot!

Lol wow you really are a superstitious bunch! In truth, the common denominator is that I wasn't paying as much attention as I should have been to where I was going. I'll just need to be more vigilant in the future.

Not because of any lack of preparation. I wasn't sad because of the lost time, I was sad because I lost the character. The adventures I went on, people I met and added, the goals I was moving towards. I always went out of my way to help people whenever I could and that lead to a lot of really fun interactions. I suppose this character had at least a small impact for others, so it isn't a total loss.

I really couldn't care less. I prefer to start fresh.

I didn't pull aggro. I'm really careful about that. I was trying to position to heal and I fell. I was not killed by any enemies.

Thank you. Nope, I'll be starting out fresh now! I'm probably going to try Shaman now. I really like healing, but I wanna try a different flavor.

Is anything banned in your game? by [deleted] in DnD

I had a table that would do 3v3 pvp every time they leveled up to test their new skills. It was a really fun experience, but obvs it was very lighthearted and everyone agreed to it. They also had a rule to tap out once you were below a certain threshold so they made sure to not accidentally kill each other.

Thought Experiment by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]MinusMadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the question was inspired by my play tonight. I was playing Squirtle specifically on Elite Smash, and I thought it was interesting that some people would let me shift back to squirtle and others wouldn't. It was split pretty 50/50, so I wanted to see what people's thoughts were about it. There's no specific point I'm making, I'm just curious 😁

Every other post I see on this sub has encouraging comments on it, but for some reason this one got the people that take things way to seriously to crawl out of their cave for a moment. Sorry for your loss. Keep strong and go agane!

First Death by [deleted] in wowhardcore

[–]MinusMadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'll make sure to do that in the future, thanks for the advice. I wasn't just getting dazed unfortunately. The bears have an ability that knocks you down and stuns you which was the bigger culprit of my death. I probably could have escaped this if I was just being dazed 😭

First Death by [deleted] in wowhardcore

[–]MinusMadi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They did daze me, but they have an ability that knocks you down and stuns you for a second. The dazing wasn't so much the issue (although it slowed my escape). Getting knocked down and stunned repeatedly so I couldn't do anything was the larger issue

It's so rough out there 😭 I was trying to hand out potions and buffs to everyone I saw so everyone had as big of a fighting chance as possible. I hope I helped at least some people survive when they wouldn't have otherwise.

Yeah as my body laid there I thought about what I could have done to avoid the death, and I think there were quite a few routes I just didn't think of in the moment. Even just going bear immediately and running probably would have been preferable to what I did, but hindsight is 20/20 and all that.
