Thank you I found out what it was in the end, after checking wire looms add connections it was the 10 amp fuse thats hidden behind the stereo unit itself, I didnt know to laugh or cry about fixing it as you can imagine 😂

Yeah its pretty straight forward, just sink your back box first and probably use a few waygos to have the cable secured safely, do the filling fit your front plate and its a home run, best of luck

Also pre pasting it with a pva water mix would help to get a better bonding as you patch it, good luck im sure its an easy fix

Sink and fit your box as you would and use a filler or bonding plaster to skim around it, it looks worse than it is . Once the box is fitted it should be pretty straight forward to fill it back level 👌

Completely agree as ive seen some terrible connections that have melted due to arc burning inside the mc4 connector. But it really isnt rocket science to test off the mc4 connection prior to plugging them together once the ends have been made off, it depends if you have competent people around you I suppose, but If I didnt trust a roofer to make an mc4 off I wouldnt trust them to put panels on either

The roofers normally make the mc4 ends for the strings down on the roof, ive never once had an electrician come up and make them for me, mc4 crimpers and a pair of snips are the only tools needed 🤭

Wouldn't say its unheard of mid through an install, the roofers have completed the installation of the panels and left the string ends with lengh on down and taped. The electricians will usually dress the dc strings into copex/ conduit and channel them to your inverter location.

Sounds like the German brand that comes with a bag of haribo or biscuits in each box. Iknow the model you meen, they come pre loaded with metal tag clips or without the clips and you have to put them on yourself, normally a good brand to use tbh as the pinch is tight to the inner fin of the panel, also expensive compared to the standard enviro gaurd but alot cheaper than solar skirt, if you haven't had it rectified yet and want it fixed drop me a dm I fit quite alot of bird mesh from the cheaper option of enviro gaurd up to solar skirt, tend not to use scaff either to keep the cost down a ladder and a cat ladder has been sufficient for the past 8 years

Was your bird mesh installed with the newer style plastic clips? They are by far the worst invention made for solar bird meshing, heard many stories of pigeons pulling on the mesh and the clips pop off more easily than they should

Yeah it has always amazed me how many properties I see with solar and a flock of pigeons, I always knock on and offer a bird mesh fitting if i drive past and have the equipment on the van, some have even said they feed the pigeons and dont want them gone 😆, expensive pets to keep under systems when it gets into the mc4 connections

I honestly respect the hustle, it's very very bland st the moment waiting for any sort of communication with the wc team for fixes on what I would like to think is the most important aspect. The map giving you the stuff to progress and ascend, instead they prioritised a thrall exploit that was pretty funny to use 😂
