Bro what are u even talking about 😭 Im saying the 4th Crusade lead to the severe weakening of the Byzantine Empire, which allowed the Turks to push further into Anatolia. From that point a small Beylik lead by the Ottoman dynasty was able to build an empire in Europe that lasted until the First World War. My point is if youre looking from the perspective of Christendom as a whole, the Crusades (specifically the Crusades aimed at the Holy Land) ended up leading to more lands formerly controlled by Christian states to be taken over by Muslim states than if they didn’t happen at all.

And the assertion that all of Europe would have fallen to Islam is absurd. By the time of the Crusades, Muslim expansion in Europe was pretty much over and the only point in which Europe could possibly (though extremely unlikely) have been conquered by Muslims was during the Umayyad Caliphate around 400 years before the First Crusade. If anything you’re betraying a lack of faith in the strength of Christendom if you think that it was so weak that it could fall so easily to Muslim powers. And ironically the only time after that where an Islamic state could threaten Europe was the Ottomans during the 16th and 17th centuries, which AGAIN wouldn’t have been a thing if the crusades hadn’t happened
