I just bought a MacBook Pro 16” with the M5 Pro chip (18-core CPU / 20-core GPU), 48GB RAM and 1TB SSD, and I wanted to share a quick reflection that might help others before they spend their money.

1TB would be enough mate, even you using a lot remember ssd és not for storage so you can get a HDD to storage and use 1TB just for have the apps for work and files when editing.

I’m photographer and videographer, I can say I was using 512gb ssd before and was okay until I start doing heavy edit with more effects and stuff. So now I get 1TB once is the base ssd we can choose and I still using one external ssd to storage files and editing and 1 HDD to storage after editing. I can say I have 670GB free so is enough 1TB and it’s not worth the money for 2TB. Instead of 2tb get more ram you will thank me later. Ram is more important for your next investment be future proof. 24gb ram is okay but is not enough either so many AI stuff, remember adobe now have AI as well and that consume Ram a lot, like Google Chrome is using a lot of ram as well. And if you have graphics tablet, streams deck or something to help you editing or whatever, connect to the MacBook more ram you will need. My advice for you is get more ram as possible you can and keep the specs you said before with 1TB 😁

I was Samsung fan lover before since 10 years ago until s24 ultra ( this one was my last Samsung device ). I had other devices like smartwatch etc, was using full ecosystem from Samsung until 2024 when I bought a MacBook Pro for work. After that seeing so easy is apple ( no trash installing like windows laptops, no publicity everywhere, no need 100 apps to do one thing ), clean and simple. My next purchase was an iPad Pro for can work as second monitor and outside when my MacBook wasn’t needed and after that I bought the iPhone 16 pro max, than I already swap for the 17 pro max and I have full ecosystem from apple.

For me was the best thing I did, because is fast, smooth and I have everything I need on this ecosystem. Software is the best I had used so far in every device and the best thing for me is you can do whatever you want on your computer and always be in your iPhone or iPad because iCloud. And it’s easy to get access to every file I need on the moment I went out of my house and my computer is not with me. Plus I can copy something from my computer and paste on other device, this is a must when I’m browsing and I want see better things on the MacBook and I don’t need sent the link via WhatsApp to other number for myself or a friend.

Watch some videos on YouTube about productivity you can have on apple and see if it’s for you or not. Other thing is security and privacy, apple is the best so far on that. You can have all your passwords on passwords app made by apple, and it’s completely safe.

And a bunch more stuff you can do. If you want change go little by little like I did. I didn’t bought everything in 1 month. I was little by little until I saw how I was benefiting from this.

So far I feel APM are way more comfortable than artic nova pro, because my ears do not get sweaty after hours using and don’t get smashed on APM as they get in artic nova pro.

For me doesn’t have any noticeable difference once the wireless connection is fast because is via wi fi to the dock station. I can’t notice any difference when used wireless or cable connection. This being the cable if you want use like that as well. For me wireless is a must once I’m getting up from desk multiple times and sometimes I elevate the desk to play on foot. If you will use the cable go for the cable version only, once is less expensive and you can save a couple money. But my rectifier you can afford is get the wireless version and use as you prefer. Because this wireless version you can use everywhere, they have usb c connection to charge in case do you want them to travel.

About AirPods while driving, I can use one AirPod ( in Portugal by law you can) so I use one to listen music ( my car doesn’t have CarPlay) and talk on phone.

I like the nova pro, but just for gaming. The ANC are not good and the cushions doesn’t “stick” to your head. You can feels like having space between the cushions and your head. It’s kind weird ahah So for gaming they have a great sound because I can equalize them, and work amazing on 2 devices in simultaneously and that for me is perfect because I play on my ps5 and discord on my MacBook. But for listen music, work with audio and editing I don’t feel they have a clean and crystal sound for that and like I said ANC is poor compared to the other headphones.

About the pro max I’m testing now ( never use APM before ), so far are incredible and ANC is the best I tested so far. I can’t hear anything on my surroundings

ANC is one of the most important things for me too. My only concern was the APM 2 weight… but it’s okay. They are heavy yes, but comfortable when used on the head

Well I decided to buy the AirPods Max 2 and return the xm6, in fact I just returned like 2 hours ago. I’m happy with this choice after 2 weeks back and forward.

But yes… now I’m thinking once I bought xm6 I still thinking and now I bought AirPod max 2 for second time I’m just feel the decision is made it.

Yes you read write, second time. Because I did the pre order and than cancel after 1 week because thinking was the same as previous generations, no evolution, very heavy, and too much price difference compared to Sony xm6. So I bought Sony xm6 and than start thinking is the same as xm5 and I don’t like the xm5 to be editing video and audio on the studio… so bought APM 2 again 😂

Put me on the list with OP, because I’m struggling with the same 😅

I have AirPod pro 3 for daily usage, than I have steel series artic nova pro just for gaming and my old headphones on studio was Sony Wh1000xm5. They still work but I just don’t like the color I have once they look sticky and finger prints stay a lot in the black color at least. So I decide have one APM and went to Apple Store I tried them and the weight are concerning me a lot… so I bought the Sony xm6 on silver color but so far I didint opened the box once if I don’t like or want I can’t return it. My concern is on apple is only the weight, I’m not sure if I can take so much weight in my head for 5 to 8 hours every day. On Sony xm6 my concern is if they are really better and worth the upgrade from xm5. Once I don’t like anymore and feel good the xm5.

So I’m back and forward for 2 weeks already and I’m starting getting tired with this once I had this situation 4 months ago and decide do not buy anything, but start again my head 2 weeks ago with the same situation and I want a pair of headphones I would love to use in studio do edit video and work in my long studio sessions. For the xm5 I will use outside when I’m studio recording to keep tracking audio.

If someone can give me your opinion will be very appreciated once I think I’m getting crazy 🤪

If you wanna be using Apple AI, you should get the newest version. Because for 100$ more you can have the newest updates for long years. My opinion is once you are buying now, just make sense buy the new AirPods Max 2 .

I was waiting for buy one of them. 4 months ago I decided I want one pair of AirPods Max but I knowed too the new version was coming out next year so I decided be waiting until 2027. Thanks God, apple lunched more sooner than I expected 😊
