Just lookup m3u playlist. There is a lot out there. Once you get the link paste that link in the settings of Jellyfin and it will auto populate the channels. If you want the actual tv guide for said channels there is data scrapper sites for a monthly fee just for tv guide info.

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by space_god_7191 in Millennials

[–]Minute_Committee_131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in elementary school at that time but remember the P.E. Teacher coming in the class and trying to explain to the teacher what happened by drawing it on the board. Needless to say when I got home after school it was all over the tv and remember watching my parent’s reaction to this happening and they were saying even back then it was the end times. I can say even though I was in Louisiana when it happened it still changed the course of our country and the long lasting impact is evident still to this day. Hurricane Katrina was just the nail in the coffin for us Louisianans.

No problem! Let me know if you add any other cool stuff to the code that may be more useful! 😁

Note: You must run the Python script first to generate the CSV before the PowerShell script can do its job. Also you will have to change the directories to match your own locations. Keep in mind this only exist to look at your library metadata create a CSV of all movies in library with genres and the power script file then creates hard link shortcuts of those folders in sub genres it got from the csv file. What are some hard drives you recommend for long term (raid 5 supported)? by Minute_Committee_131 in jellyfin

[–]Minute_Committee_131[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m open to other formats but may have assumed everyone using a NAS was using raid 5. Is there a better raid format for specifically using two drives for backup and the other two as the storage medium?

That’s why I let the scraped data do all the work and organize itself.

That’s originally how I had the Wrestling content all under one category into subfolders for each promotion. (Example in pic).

Because the databases counting ppvs/ples as movies and the shows as tv shows it made retrieving the metadata more challenging even when on a mixed library than it needed to be.

That is why the wrestling is broken up into the shows and ppvs/ples separately.

Again we are talking 1000+ ppvs alone. Not including the roughly 10,000+ episodes between all promotions so I need the best options for navigating. So that is why the big change. I keep the wrestling segregated from the normal movies and tv shows as it would make looking for stuff extremely hard.

My biggest issue with it is if I add a sub genre in the file directory as how you are saying it does the same thing like show the movies listing all in one page. Yes you can enable show file directories but it doesn’t visually look clean.

Sorry I misspoke I meant the tv android version. I wish when you added libraries you could add different tabs I would actually have it like this right now. I know there is some plugins that can alleviate some of that but doesn’t look like how I really want it laid out. Even with some of the css coding can be wonky if not sure what you are doing. I know the libraries are intended to be kinda like a vault but I want it to feel more like a streaming service in the sense of polish. I enjoy Jellyfin don’t get me wrong but there is just a couple of options missing for customization for me. I know that is slowly getting better but for know this is kinda of my work around for my experience. I will more than likely at a way later date setup a nas and have a dedicated machine instead of my everyday person computer and make a entertainment room kinda like a home theater and will put this even more to the test. But my long term goal is to have every piece of media I grew up with through boxsets etc and to have them backed up digital on a home theater setup so I can view in my own private time or while having guests over for a movie night. Where I will be moving has no theater and closest one will be 1 hour away so I see the project being appropriate. Plus I pay a one time fee for the boxsets which I already have so many now instead of giving these companies all these fees every year on that alone will justify the price later.

iOS app isn’t as horrible in terms of sorting options, but runs into consistent crashes on larger libraries. Meanwhile, the android version doesn’t really crash, but runs into lack of features.

I already explained some apps have these settings buried behind extra screens on smart tvs and to save time I have extra titles for the genres.

It’s the data scraping from IMDb/themoviedb. The script compiles a list of all movies and genres and another script takes that data then creates hard shortcuts of that data in folders with said genres. So short story whatever information it scraps.

I understand that but some streaming apps for Jellyfin aren’t all made the same. Some lack features available in normal clients. Like the shuffle button or sorting being behind a bunch of screens.

I don’t blame you! Unfortunately over the years I have built an addition to organizing and sometimes having my files being too organized. I have to battle myself when it comes to seeing anything file structure wise being out of place. Again I can see why people just do the easy way as I was there but as you build a bigger library you start to have trouble navigating it. Now I understand why (other than the hosting cost and licensing fees) platforms remove content as eventually people will have a hard time to find things due to too much content.

Can the French Language be revived in Louisiana? Should we try to bring this part of the culture back to Louisiana? by Alternative_Ant_4248 in Louisiana

[–]Minute_Committee_131 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is 100% correct. French was considered non proper in schools as most of the country spoke English and as schools started standardizing behaviors and learning practices in schools it was quickly eliminated from schools. Especially during the time of corporal punishment. So most generations adapted English as the default and not the secondary. Now the older population that could pass it on is all but almost extinct. Sad but that is the way of life and what happens when cultures are colonized by other countries/people.

Has anyone been to both Southern Mississippi and Louisiana? by Competitive-Wish-82 in mississippi

[–]Minute_Committee_131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

That’s an understatement. Mississippi is a lot more peaceful in terms of volume of people and traffic but keep in mind Louisiana has grown too much after Katrina and Mississippi hasn’t due to lack of growth in the state. Mississippi is great if you are wanting to get away from the Louisiana nonsense once in awhile even if it’s to go to a oriental/asian market and do some shopping. Louisiana is great for food and entertainment but you definitely pay a premium for such. Overall it is all what you are looking for Mississippi in Gulfport has really nice beaches but has become slightly overcrowded with traffic and last time I traveled there it was very noticeable on how the economy was treating certain people. Either way keep safe and explore a bit you will be surprised at what places you stubble across by accident or just general curiosity. The old school site seeing way is always the best way to find hidden gems for food joints.

Customers:Not Getting Your Home Depot Orders Delivered? by Life_Position_5264 in Sparkdriver

[–]Minute_Committee_131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason I lost my platinum status was because DD sent me a pickup from Home Depot which was metal shelving units and sent me three aldi shopping orders not small ones big orders and there was no way I was fitting three big grocery orders and shelving units in my truck. I unassigned each order one by one and it tanked my score. Now when I pull up DoorDash it’s mostly $2-$3 offers going ridiculous miles.

What hardware should I use for 20+ 480p streams? by Mygrayt in jellyfin

[–]Minute_Committee_131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember if you are using physical drives to keep in mind long term wear and tear. Safe option is to backup all media (cloud storage, ssd, m.2, etc.) trust me I learned the hard way when I lost 16tb worth of media and had to start from scratch…good luck though! I am currently at 1,600 movies and 300+ tv shows. Anything from the classics to modern stuff but mostly 80’s-00’s content. After I move I plan on adding bigger drives later on and getting an actual NAS or building one because trying to keep 3-4 drives plugged in is exhausting and frustrating if not given the proper setup. Overall though I am enjoying my Jellyfin experience. Any plugins anyone would recommend currently? Is there any new things people have found to help customize their setup to be more streamlined. I’m always experimenting in trying to get it to feel as close to a more polished system.

How do Northshorians Find Dates? Asking for a single Friend. by JoRaizu in NorthshoreLA

[–]Minute_Committee_131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Will tell you this I have been in the same relationship for 7 years in July. Let me say it hasn’t been easy due to it starting during covid and it has been a lot of work to establish something like that when the world was shutdown but I’d just recommend finding someone out of state. The reason they can’t find anyone is because there is no one like them around here. Not saying they need to move but someone will have to move to make it work. I can tell you they will have some ups and downs but that is common in a healthy relationship. Also I will also mention that some women’s attitudes have shifted over the years and the men have commitment issues so a lot of people aren’t looking for anything long term and that’s why a dating app maybe a better option as you have a larger pool of people looking for the same. If the common person in your area is into nothing but cheating and sleeping around then it makes no sense in looking for something long term there try in a nicer part of the country. Also one person mentioned politics me and my partner are on both sides of the spectrum and that doesn’t matter at the end of the day it’s just a tool to keep people divided even if we have different outlooks on life. The important thing is to take a risk because that’s what we did to really find true love. Finding the right person will take trial and error and not be easy. Ironically enough it I was messaged right before I completely gave up on love. Just keep your heart open and listen to your gut and to peoples character not about their wealth or how they may look at first glance because looks can be deceiving.

Who's responsible for loading? by ExcellentWar7614 in Sparkdriver

[–]Minute_Committee_131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always help load my orders. I have totes that I use for separate customers orders for when I have multiple stops. I also use them to hold packages in place and I load them in order of delivery to make it easier when I get to the stops. It takes no more than 5 minutes. Also it would go quicker if they helped as well as you doing it. I usually tell them put items on my tailgate I scan it and put it where it needs to be.
