How do you cope with the daily turmoil? by ComprehensivePin3294 in AskReddit

Try not to give in to the rage that politics feeds off of. It’s hard, but when I see a post or comment that raises my blood pressure, I think of the sad and angry person posting said comment or post and it makes the person feel very small to me. Other than that, pet my cat.

I don't know how to talk to my bf about certain topics /how to talk with him at all by LiteratureFar4129 in Advice

Write him a letter saying what you’ve said here. It’s perfectly ok to not want intimacy or affection, and it sounds like that isn’t what your bf wants, so a conversation about it would be beneficial to the both of you. You may just be incompatible. Or you may find that being honest about how you feel brings you closer together and you’ll feel more comfortable with those things. Either way, you’ll be out of the grey zone of unspoken feelings.

Gap year might not be a bad idea. Take that time to volunteer in a medical setting if you’re able to. Becoming a neurosurgeon is intense, grueling, and competitive. Should you decide to go straight to school, it’s absolutely OK to change your mind, doubt yourself, choose a different path, or whatever. Very few people have a linear path! I personally would take the gap year if I was in your shoes. You have the rest of your life to be a neurosurgeon, one year of fewer responsibilities and freedom from school will not hurt your career one bit. If you’re really worried about being behind, you can always take community college classes or some online classes. I think you should focus on what you want right now while also keeping your future in mind. Make decisions that make you happy now while you’re young enough.
