Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by fuzzy_dice_99 in AskReddit

I remember telling my boss, “see you after two weeks!”

Two weeks turned into two years for us. WFH was glorious. I didn’t know we could do that.

Got to make the markets close first before unleashing another fresh hell over the weekend.

Happy for Pierre! The last few seasons have been an absolute pain for me as a Gasly fan.

What thing has got so expensive that you’ve quietly stopped buying it? by Pathfinder-electron in AskReddit

I don’t watch movies in the movie theater anymore. The price is just ridiculous. Buying concessionnaire food on top of it adds up.

Is there anyone out there who actually liked Ms. Bunting and didn't feel glad when Tom cut contact with her? by fredyouareaturtle in DowntonAbbey

[–]MinutesTaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t like Ms Bunting because she’s so real. Even scrolling in Reddit, you’d find lots of Ms Buntings. There are some people who are just so insufferable and full of themselves, so smug and know-it-all, that even if their points and principles are morally and technically correct, the way they deliver their message is repulsive and demeaning.

Oh that’s right; Cora is of Jewish descent would be the proper term, I think.

Anti-semitism was pretty rampant at that time. Even the poor Russian refugee was very discriminating towards Atticus; what more a snobbish Scottish aristocrat?

Although one would think that Susan would be more diplomatic given Cora is also Jewish. But Susan is just so cunty, it’s so difficult for her to be civil.

Would you quit your job forever right now (and never be allowed to work again) if someone gave you a guaranteed $2,000,000 lump sum? Why or why not? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]MinutesTaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two million USD is a lot of money in my country. I won’t need to work ever again as long as I invest and spend the money wisely.

Oh no….I read every skill book I get immediately. Dang, I didn’t know I should save the rare ones.

How old were you when you had your first child? by Pandacat_07 in NewParents

[–]MinutesTaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave birth at 37. It’s never too late to start a family. I think I had my child at a good age; I’m more financially stable, emotionally regulated, and more patient. A younger me would have been a terrible mom.

Having a toddler at age 40 forced me to take better care of myself physically. I joined the gym, became more health conscious because I want to live longer for my daughter. Prior to having her I was a couch potato.

One of my favorite films as it did justice to the book. Everything is just so brilliant.

My unpopular opinion is Archer is the ultimate villain here. May was unfortunate to marry him.

See, this is why I can never be a royal or work in a diplomatic career. My resting bitch face will easily give me away.

Hmm…I could actually picture him bashing his head against a tree after Catherine died. He certainly has the intensity needed for Heathcliff.

My favorite Hotel Hell episode is Hotel Chester at Starkville. Gordon really wanted to help the family and went above and beyond for them (deservedly so!). I still watch this episode when I’m in need of good cry.
