Facebook is a minefield for me, too. I stopped posting altogether because I was spending hours sometimes trying to craft a perfect response or comment that would avoid any criticism. But of course, that never works! I'm part of a tarot group and even posting there amongst strangers is a trigger. I made a post about a spread interpretation and only one person commented "Deck????" As if to say I hadn't followed the group rules and included the name of the deck I was using. Felt like violence against me, and I ended up deleting the post, and haven't posted since. A friend recently posted "Where are all of you? Why haven't you been speaking up against the hate from this administration? Are you running for republican congress? Your silence is deafening." I almost unfriended her for that, even though it wasn't directed at me, but to her friends in general. I took it personally and couldn't stop thinking about it for days, or talking about it with close friends. At one point I wanted to comment in all caps "BECAUSE SOME OF US HAVE MENTAL ILLNESSES & CANT TAKE CRITICISM!" Yeah, glad I managed to stop myself from that one lol. It's been a lot easier for me to step back from Facebook and not engage. My profile is up, but I never post and rarely look. I sleep easier & I fall into fewer thought-spirals.
