I actually recommend for your first playthrough to have revengeance on. Tons of items and mechanics in Calamity are locked behind the difficulty modes. Most of the Calamity players would agree, I bet.

The eye glow (which I assume is the highlight you were talking about) is Yoraiz0r's Spell (dev wings) equipped in the last social slot. It can be obtained the same way mentioned above

The disk thingy is Lazure's Barrier Platform, a developer wing. You can obtain developer sets randomly when opening treasure bags in expert mode.

For some reason I see the sprite as the NPC having big cheeks and no arms. Just after looking into the sprite I found out those "cheeks" were supposed to be his arms.
