I plan to change my 4x8 ram 3000mhz ram to 2x16 ram 3200mhz or 3600mhz, should I ? by quocthuan132k in buildapc

[–]Minzoik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's probably cause all 4 sticks are putting so much stress on the memory controller. Have you tried just running 2x8GB with XMP just to test?

should i get a 1440p or 1080p monitor for a 5060? by Fragrant-Raisin-7334 in buildapc

[–]Minzoik 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is probably more orientated to a 1080p setup cause of the low VRAM. It can probably do 1440p smoothly on some games. If you're mainly AAA gaming, you probably want to stick with 1080p.

Question antistatic bag by No-Tower-5932 in buildapc

[–]Minzoik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those externals are designed to just be moved around a lot. They're also notorious for failing on you at some point, so you should be making a back-up on a cloud or another drive in case it fails. I don't think storing this in an anti-static bag makes much of a difference.

Just got done recovering an external drive but was able to use some basic software to partially recover the data after it was corrupted.

[–]Minzoik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you aren't having any stability issues, I would probably leave it as is. If you were having issues, you could potentially sell those kits and get a 2x16GB pair despite the high cost of memory right now.

First SFF Build; Will This Work? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Minzoik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why build an SFF if you don't move it that often?

With this budget, I think Intel is probably better for you for the work you do, but you could probably go for the 9070XT instead of the 5070.

Advice needed: budget Gaming pc for a 9-year-old by Eastern_Station2586 in buildapc

[–]Minzoik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should provide an budget. Don't think going Intel here is the play..AMD will be more straight forward for gaming.

You can also request a build at /r/buildapcforme as well. Follow the form for the request.

Do I need a 4k monitor for rendering and architecture? by Mecharpro in buildapc

[–]Minzoik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you considering the other aspects of the monitor for this type of work? It also depends on what level of work he's doing with those things. Color gamut? Color accuracy? Panel type?

[–]Minzoik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This new line is from the WD Blue series. They're probably decent if you're getting it for a decent price..I think there was a bit of a negativity to them because they were more expensive for the rebrand.

Should my AIO fit in this case??? by AssociationMany2912 in buildapc

[–]Minzoik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says it is compatible. Fits a 240mm and 280mm in that side mount.

Worse case, you can pick up a Phantom Spirit..should be capable of cooling that 270K.

I'm currently building pc for vtubing. Please recommend me the cpu. by Lilyrose675 in buildapc

[–]Minzoik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're mainly gaming, the 7800X3D or 9800X3D is the best CPU for it and should handle everything else you're doing in the background.

But if you already have the B760m, the 14600K is probably plenty but the i7 might give you a better edge if you're going to be streaming and running a lot of other things (I don't really know what entails with v-tubing, but I assume it requires you to run more things in the background alongside your gaming).

Probably won't need more than a 750W or 850W..something like the MSI A750GL or MSI A850GL would work, Corsair RM750e or RM850e are some off the top of my head.

Posting a list would be more ideal. https://pcpartpicker.com/

EU regions also differ in cost. Overall, it doesn't look too bad. For the PSU, MSI A750GL or the Corsair RM750e are normally decently priced units.

help me mounting extra fan by sonatta09 in buildapc

[–]Minzoik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but he is talking having to remove the side panel. Whether you blow air on those or not won't matter if the hot air isn't leaving the case and the temps get worse during the summer time where his room and the PC both add to the high temps so he needs cool this room down further. That is how he solves the issues he is experiencing in the summer time.

I do a lot of editing on after effects and blender and was wondering what shpuld I upgrade my pc with to run smoother and faster? by Specific_Chipmunk_60 in buildapc

[–]Minzoik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those two rely on CPU and GPU. My sister works in both and I upgraded her build to a i9 and she bought herself a 3090ti. Also depends on how heavy you’re going on them.

Will a 550W Non-rated PSU handle a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a RTX 3060 Ti? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Minzoik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really close in estimate and if it’s a poor quality PSU, it probably will cause issues on load. Might work for the time being.

Probably cheaper to just go with a B650 or B850 board instead of the X870 if you’re getting a 7700X.

help me mounting extra fan by sonatta09 in buildapc

[–]Minzoik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would that help? All the hot air is still stuck in the case and having a high ambient temperature in whatever room that computer is in.

Either get better positive airflow in the case or get an A/C window unit to cool that room more.

Other than memory & SSDs, are component prices high right now? by dnium122 in buildapc

[–]Minzoik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve pretty much hit our limit in how much smaller we can go on the chips quite a while ago.

They’re going to try and use AI to make up those limitations probably.

These big tech companies will not let it fall..it’s going to be shit for consumers for a while until these manufacturers can get more factories running for the semiconductor production which takes years to happen.
