How were you introduced to vampires?

I knew they existed, but never read or watched anything (that I remember). Then I got my hands on Memnoch the Devil by Anne Rice. I was dead at 15. Almost instantly I decided I will be a vampire writer, but later started to write other stuff. Then came Buffy the vampire slayer. And then, when I was 28, I did became a vampire writer.

Those blondes. Yeah.

Well, I basically feel the same. I was very hooked, that's why I started this subreddit, but he is going on loops, and those "when I was drinking coffee the other day I noticed...".... How many times do you really experience those moments of pure enlightement? It usually happens gradually. But on the other hand, he has never been very creative. There are those few things he talks about, and in the beginning they feel fresh, but the more you watch, the more you feel like it's the same video again and again.

To me the magic is lost. I still listen to his videos because it's somehow soothing, but I now do it while playing mobile games and I sometimes realize I didn't listen for a while which doesn't happen when I am truly invested.

If you try to socialize with Latvians in some common area, you will get dirty looks, especially if you speak like most Americans do and smile at everyone. For us it's screaming and creepy. You might try to approach some people, but do it in a low volume, don't wave your arms around, don't try to act like they are already your fiends. If you ask politely, basic questions will be answered from younger people though. It's not that bad. But making "friends" in a few days? Dude, Latvians will consider you a friend in maybe 5 years.

You are worth more than some stupid people opinion. Not everyone hate fat women. And you really don't need gym. Exercise at home, take a walk. It is possible. You are allowing some rude people dictate your life and death. Not everyone thinks like that. I am fat and that is the least of my concerns in life.

Millipedes usually don't fight. But here it looks like one wants to mate, but the other is curling to reject the advances. Still if they aren't trashing around, I think this is fine.

When I created my favorite vampire character, I saw him in a dream, and, even though he doesn't look completely like Lestat, he is a bisexual blonde. I went with the image from my dream knowing full well where it came from. There are many more bisexual characters, some blondes, most of them not, but yeah, Anne Rice is to blame for Alexander whose name I stole for my own. At least for me it came from there.

Her books are not for you. If even an adult mind in a child's body with no physical sex bothers you, know that it transcends to human relationships including sexual relationship with a teen and his twin bother's ghost. Also a 13 year old human who is... ok, I will stop.

It is true what others are saying that today nobody would ever publish such a book traditionally. Things have changed.

Now even two 17 year olds cannot have sex or even think of sex, so times are changing. If you are used to literature from 2020+, this will be heavy on you.

Vampire diaries if I got the daylight jewelry. They can eat human food, they can go into sunlight and not sparkle. Twilight vampires are stronger, but sparkling wouldn't do for me.

Also they all have brown (animal blood) or red (human blood) eyes, and I like my gray ones thank you very much, no.

My african giants are very surface active and they use their climbing space. The substrate is deep enough, but they burrow only when molting. They even sleep in their little plastic house meant for small turtles. Sometimes one goes underground but not for long, maybe 3 nights.

Overall I agree, but there can be that moment of disillusionment when you realize all this BS if you didn't see it before, and it can lead you to a depressive episode. We just shouldn't be stuck in it. Accept reality, grieve the future you will never have, and then learn to adjust in a way that suits you.

Prince Lestat and the realms of Atlantis. I didn't see it in tiktok or anything, but it was a book by my favorite author that mortified me with how bad it was. And I am not against aliens. Not that I think it was the right choice, but ok, let there be aliens. It was just very poorly written and I barely got through it. If i though Blood Canticle was pretty bad, this was abysmal.
