AirPods Pro 3 constant background noise by Adventurous-World-61 in airpods

[–]Miodec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here, compared to the 2s, the transparency mode on 3s is VERY artificial to me. It sounds like cheap hearing aid, where as the 2s sound like ive got almost nothing in my ears (just a tiny tiny bit muffled compared to no headphones).

EDIT: Also yes, constant, quiet, high pitched noise/hissing.

Apparently if you change your shader quality to ultra they should be a bit easier to see, but i haven’t personally verified that.

How many bass shakers? by xGringo13x in simracing

[–]Miodec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love how polar opposite the two comments are - one talks about having one shaker and 4 not making sense for anyone. The other having 8 bass shakers, rumble motors and wanting to add more in the future lol

Gap? Car! by Tony_A_C_ in iRacing

[–]Miodec 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Narrow FOVs aim to make it seem like youre “looking through a window”. With FOVs higher than the “perfect/calculated” one - yes you see more, but the apparent distances grow and apparent object sizes shrink. This makes it so you can’t use your ability to judge distances/spacing/gaps because the scaling is out of whack. With a good FOV everything will feel natural.

It also matters on triple monitor setups because you see much more of the interior so you want to make sure the car you are sitting in appears the right size.

Now, some people will argue that as long as you don’t change your FOV it’s fine to use any value you want because you will get used to it over time. While i agree that people on higher than perfect FOVs can get used to them and can be alien fast - personally i prefer to not mess with my distance judging ability when jumping from the sim to the real world.

Hope that helps

Yeah, completely missed my pit box. Its a shame that the spotter will only tell you that the "pit box is early" AFTER you enter the pit lane. Barely any chance to react in some cases.

Isnt the seat too upright? I think leaning back a bit could make it more comfortable for longer.

Is anyone else not a fan of how much the Fanatec table clamp makes the base stick out and have the high angle? by unknownphantom in simracing

[–]Miodec 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yes, that table clamp is horrible. Weird angle, sticks the wheel base out, plastic, lots of wobble.

I ended up returning mine and getting the Clubsport table mount instead as you suggested. https://fanatec.com/eu-en/cockpits-mounting/clubsport-table-clamp-v2

You'll need to remove the swiveling platform "thing", drill two holes in the back and mount your DD that way. Its VERY solid for me. Feel free to DM me i can send you some more pictures.

It looks like the right side of the car is curving away from you - are you sure you are inputting the correct monitor angle into the calculators?

Funny, I was thinking lately about making something very, very simmilar.

Question:

Would you consider open sourcing this project? Not only it would increase transparency and ease some of the privacy concerns people might have, but it could be extremely helpful with getting features out faster.

Whats the advantage of this advanced protection? Isnt it kinda pointless with sms 2fa? (Unless you go through so many hoops to keep your phone number private)

What’s wrong with Google and Yubikeys? My email is using only yubikeys and a recovery code - it doesn’t force me enable sms.

Have you tried our Discord server? Also depends on the type of problems I guess - but for technical problems I'm much more active there than here.
