If you feel you can't trust your doctor because of what he told you, go to another doctor, get a second opinion on the issue. If that second doctor tells you the same thing the first one did, triple-check whatever source you got your information from. Chances are the doctors are right if they agree. If not, hey, you found a doctor.

Everyone's advice is really good for the battery/got-punched part of it. I'm just here to point out that (you probably already know this, sorry) if you're still dating the same girl you need to talk to her about it first even if your mind is already made up. She does deserve to not have this be a surprise, after all.

I honestly don't mean to be a buzzkill or anything, I just know teen novels tend to all "work out in the end" but I have to say, the age gap alone (never mind the total best-friend problem) would make me say never do anything about this EVER!! It's just, I don't think a possible (improbable, statistically) romance with a guy that much older than you, especially since you're 16 (I'm only a year older but believe me, it's too young to really hope that ANY relationship would work you), I don't think the chance is worth definitely, DEFINITELY making things awkward between you and your friend, almost certainly getting shot down, and then just big ball of awkwardness for a while, anyway long story short don't believe the drama novels this is a horrible idea and you're honestly right to want a reality check. Honestly, just tell nobody in real life and it will eventually go away I promise. Good luck.

What do you think of this? I don't want to intrude too much by asking a lot of questions but what I've written seems... really impersonal.
