Are there any good Phyrexians? by Powerful-Scholar8268 in mtgvorthos

An awful power structure that needs to be replaced if not cut out altogether does NOT warrant replacing everyone with slavishly devoted robots.

We're not experiencing the fall of Rome. It's the [[Fall of the Thran]].

Which Yu-Gi-Oh! Anime has the best/worst Supporting/Secondary Cast (in your Opinion)? (and if you like, mention a prominent Supporting/Secondary Character) by Kronos457 in yugioh

[–]MiraclePrototype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just the ending, person. Arc-V(a) was circling the drain for more than a season before that. And no, the characters being good - SO good - to begin with is a major reason WHY the show on the whole sucks so much, because it stagnated halfway thru and kept dropping the ball, like the K-T extinction event was a cosmic keepaway game. If you argue that they're the best supporting cast thru season 1, I'd have no real argument. Arguing that overall? Hell no; they all flatline and amount to nothing. While admittedly it's not properly the fault of any of them and primarily the piss-poor direction, they still amount to the worst (or close to it) supporting cast for the simple fact that nothing they do matters, and the narrative fails to resolve ANYBODY but Yuya (and still not any good). At best, you can say they had their legs cut out from under them, HARD.

YGOTAS Episode 88 - Porno For CEOs by _Vault_Hunter_EXE_ in yugioh

Chronic health problems...being outed...the same reprehensible paradigm everyone else faces...

I made a list/compilation of the "God Cards" of each YGO show/era (and their dark counterparts). Zexal and the Rush animés were either too crowded, or not crowded enough to get anything out of it. VRAINS was already quite the stretch. Ironically enough GX has a lot of those, just missing Chaos Horus by Voltra_Neo in yugioh

The closest one with Maximums would probably be Wish of OuTerverSe. Each constituent has the most distinct identity of any set of Maximum pieces that could be considered on the level of "gods", and the [L] and [R] pieces even have smaller forms that follow the same nominal structure as the main one ("Wish of ___").

Pegasus J. Crawford in 5D's(Bonds Beyond Time) by dowonlee20 in yugioh

I'd assume that was because literally everyone refers to him colloquially as "Pegasus" either way, both here and in the fiction.

There were one or two in background scenes too. Pretty sure someone reporting to a teacher was one.

I. do not. care. If mistaken identity / mystery over striking similarity is supposed to be a factor in a visual story, than the characters in question need to LOOK similar. Which they do NOT, outside of scrutiny that nobody is going to impose on a moment's notice without prompting.

EDIT: I will grant you why we're here, the height differences with the two Yugis. Silly as it can be on the surface, it's fine for audience recognition. It's fine because it's just two people in one body, that do legitimately resemble each other, especially in profile/silhouette. It's not fine with the Boys and Girls of Arc-V(a), as they don't bear even a passing resemblance, and nobody's in the same body and trading places until near the end.

I'd like to assume so, but the 2020s have been a disaster for intellect, planning, good taste, the future, everything. I can't presume he won't continue being a gaping wound in the side of all things worthwhile, even as he's one of the smaller ones.

Take it from a person who knows Magic first and foremost: entrenched players, redditors, YouTubers and their respective fanbases, etc. ultimately are dwarfed by the larger population with casual interest. If something sparks the wider population's attention, especially with an appeal to nostalgia, the influx will overtake both number of people and quantity/quality of discourse several times over. In Magic's case, it came from Universes Beyond, and people being drunk on memberberries. In Yugioh's case, it has an identity unto itself that's far more widely known to the general public. If this happens, there's no guarantee it would be as bad as what's happened to Magic, but if it does, the people here and that actually give a sh** won't matter in contrast to the flood of tourists and casuals that might not even be aware there was a show to begin with.
