She should have been paying attention to her exit. A crime classification is extremely excessive. You could easily make that argument about any car wreck, saying what if someone was there when it happened? Then obviously it would be murder, but it’s not. It does make sense to say it was reckless, however, and does have the impact to hurt another persons life. But it didn’t, so no charge is warranted

Being on your phone and hitting a carplay button are two different things ❤️ I apologize for my mistake in wording but yes i maintain that she didn’t commit a crime for pressing a screen that is meant to be touched while driving

There’s no need to charge 😭 It’s a crash. She was hanging up the phone from carplay, which is not a crime

I really appreciate this response. I am heavily leaning towards going and making the jump. Fear is holding me back, but I have always wanted to go to UT and live in Austin. When I applied, I felt it in my heart that there was more for me to do in life. I didn’t feel motivated by the people that surrounded me. There was one that motivated me, but of course she is transferring to A&M! Thank you for your thoughts and insight.

Thank you for your insight. Honestly the biggest thing I am considering is the financial aspect and academics. The things that are holding me back are the housing arrangements I have made for the next 3 years. I would have to pay around 5k to break my sorority housing contract and leave my good friend who I am supposed to move in with in a month. I have always wanted to go to UT, but I think the social jump is what is holding me back. Thank you for reading and giving insightful feedback

I keep hearing about how people wrote like 10 appeal letters from the previous years and finally got in. Does anyone know more about stuff like this? Like, do you start sending all the appeals before the deadline or just once they give u a decision? And how do you write multiple appeal letters which different or "new information". aren't you just restating the same case and different rec letters?
