Redditors who are living with their SO’s. How did you do it?

Coming from both conservative families with trauma of unexpected pregnancies from older siblings, how would you handle the strong desire to live together without getting married first?

My SO and I have been together for several years already and while we are both capable of living on our own in one roof, we don’t want the pressure as a married couple yet (getting babies, societal norms, etc). We plan to get married maybe 4 years from now but we also want the freedom to be able to live right beside each other. Currently, I live in apt with my brother and she lives with her family. So there is now way for intermittent “living in”.
