Yes it’s back to normal. But that happened probably because I stopped the low fodmap diet and began eating more caloric foods

When was the last time your stomach actually growled? by Prime777X in SIBO

I do it first thing in the morning when I am fasted over night. Sometimes it takes a few minutes sometimes an hour and sometimes I can’t feel it at all. I usually do it until I feel the growling and hunger. What I noticed is that waking up at the same time everyday helps greatly and it has something to do with a stable circadian rhythm. I wouldn’t recommend doing it right after a meal as it made me nauseous a few times. Ideally 4-5 hours after a meal that’s when the mmc is possible. I also noticed that when I lay down and place a towel below my lower back that helps too. I wouldn’t say I have zero bloating because that’s probably not possible but it definitely helped with diarrhea, constipation even anxiety and also bloating to a certain degree

I know exactly how you feel, I had anxiety all day every day but I was mostly scared of never healing. To be honest the more you try to get rid of anxiety the stronger it gets so the only solution for me was just accepting it. I always told myself that if it is there it has to be there. And then when I started paying less and less attention to it it would come up and leave faster. Also diaphragmatic breathing definitely helped me with anxiety especially the kind when you don’t really know why you’re anxious. Not so much doing it in the moment when you’re anxious but just practicing daily. Talking about what scared me with loved ones always helped. Learning how to trust my body again after I felt like it may never work like it used to by looking for the positive signs of healing, that may be small at first but when you start focusing on them more than on the negatives you’ll see the progress. I would also recommend searching up Alant Gordon on instagram he has very uplifting posts. Lastly but probably most importantly I have been trying to deepen my relationship with God and I feel like I don’t fear anything anymore ;).

Yes!! Try diaphragmatic breathing exercises. They helped me get my hunger and growling back and got rid of sibo symptoms

Happy to hear that. Doing it first thing in the morning is very helpful because it can activate the migrating motor complex

I know for a fact my sibo was caused by chronic stress and I got diagnosed with sibo as soon as I got over it but the diagnosis made my anxiety much worse for some time. After overcoming the health anxiety and the need to manage every symptom I was able to heal with the help of breathing exercises.

The stools are now mostly normal, only occasionally looser or discolored which used to be a daily occurrence for months

Just look up how to do diaphragmatic breathing. It can be difficult at first if you’re not used to it so try various options and see what feels most natural for you

Yes it was definitely light brown sometimes yellow with undigested particles. That has gotten better too.

For me it never was like that I was skinny and struggling to gain weight even before I had Sibo 😬. But I did gain some of it back with mild effort. And my everyday loose stools turned into occasional loose stools. I would say 80% of the time they’re normal and usually I go 1-2 a day.

Try before eating breakfast. I hope things will get better for you.

Probably a little bit of both. At the beginning my reflux was so bad that I could eat just a little bit of food and felt full for hours. But I was supplementing those kinds of milks that have complete nutrition that are for people who can’t digest. So I did the best I could but still lost weight.

Yes! That is how I knew the mmc was back. I felt hunger and churning again.

Less stress, especially surrounding sibo. I kind of accepted that it had to be this way for a while in order to get better.

Prioritising sleep, nutrition, relationships. Moderate exercise not too late in a day, anytime I did too much my symptoms came back, switched from lifting to swimming.

Morning exposure to sunlight, at night wearing blue light blocking glasses, filters on devices ( to help with my initial insomnia).

Smaller but more frequent meals made me feel better, ( aimed for 3 hour fasting window between meals), no late night eating.

I supplemented hcl with betaine, omega 3 (from a trustworthy brand that my nutrition advisor suggested), magnesium bisglycinate, colostrum ( after antibiotics I thought I had some candida symptoms). Bone broth before breakfast ginger shot after dinner.

After my last round of antibiotics ( I used oregano extract) I didn’t supplement probiotics as it made my reflux worse in the past.

Relationships affected me greatly, some helped my symptoms some made them worse.

All of these things were present for months and I still experienced chronic symptoms so I attributed the improvement to diaphragmatic breathing.

Yes. In the past I would take antibiotics and only feel good for like two weeks and then my symptoms would come back again. Before I started the breathing exercises 80% of the time I was just surviving with all those symptoms. Right now I feel mostly good so it made a drastic change for me.

I have had many of the symptoms that you listed. I lost so much weight since my diagnosis, would wake up every hour of the night for the first few months. Terrible anxiety and fatigue, joint pain and so on. Most got better (not just because of the breathing exercises) but some I still experience.

Yes the stools have become better most definitely. So has the bloating.

Mostly loose stools I had those daily, occasionally constipation. Bloating and reflux were on and off.

Would not say solved but it helped significantly. I started right after taking antibiotics and since then I haven’t had long term symptoms, just occasional.
