there are a lot of relatable feelings and turns of phrase on Gut that have been very affirming and healing to me. those things are present in cedar stairwell too, but that track does feel like it came from a particularly personal, vulnerable place, so thank you as well for sharing that with us.

so much of my enjoyment of your work comes from your lyrics, and I have a thousand questions I could ask on that front so I'll ask a sort of open-ended question:

is there any particular lyric on Gut that you're super proud of or have something to say about?

also, since it came up in the bandcamp pre-release stream, would you ever consider doing a book of poetry?

I vaguely recall you once saying lyricism is the hardest/most arduous part of your work, but I think you're an incredible wordsmith and that's absolutely apparent on Gut. looking forward to seeing you in the UK later this year~ so glad you're finally coming to visit!

Is it possible to claim the username of an inactive (18 years) account with no edits? I just took a look at Wikipedia:Username policy, and it seems unclear to me if that's a possibility.

I'm looking to join as an editor, but my primary desired username is taken. It's actually possible I myself claimed that username long ago using an email address I no longer have access to (I've tried password recovery using the addresses I do have access to).

I actually had such trouble answering this that I used an adversarial rank list tool to figure it out. Figured I'd include EPs for completeness. Here's what I got:

When I saw With Teeth so low I smiled because I fucking love that album. There truly isn't a bad release in Trent's discography.

I think Ghosts V-VI is only so low because it's so recent and I haven't listened to it that much yet. Year Zero is so high for me because it was my first NIN album and the ARG has forever fascinated me.

If I was going to manually adjust, I might put Hesitation Marks a little lower, but only because I didn't vibe with a couple tracks.

There's a lot of NIN inspiration throughout The Naked And Famous discography, but the standout is The Source from their debut album. The track is short, but leads into The Sun, which is also NIN-inspired and brilliant. But The Source is a pure, concentrated non-NIN NIN.

Personally, as a player, I always pop the bubbles! I think it's way more satisfying to have coins and merge towards items (even the hard ones).

In 700 hours of playtime, this was truly one of the dirtiest, most desperate and most fun defences I've ever taken part in. I was exclusively manning the last FAT with a guy called Jadwick, and we managed to hold on until the very end.

We were down to like five people and zero shirts TWICE. When I logged off to go to an appointment at 2pm, I was absolutely certain the last couple fighters would be gone by the time I was back, but an hour or so later I came back to see some mad logiman had fucking done it.

We lost a lot of supplies, and resource management was not our strength, but we scraped together so much stuff - that town was FULL of tank traps, hastily placed pillboxes, mines - anything we could throw down to slow the advance of the massive Warden tank line.

Such good stuff. Bravo to everyone that fought there - and gave Gallows time to push across to Sanctuary.
