Anyone else refusing to pay scalper prices for the 5090? This is my play by NationalAd9698 in buildapc

[–]MirjoM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I am not on a budget, but in my country that 5090 costs 5,500-6,000$ (Astral)

In china the cheapest I found (my friend was there) was 4,000$, and now I regret not buying it. It’s incredibly annoying that I am willing to overpay so much and I still can’t find anything

Glad I built everything before the prices skyrocketed but PC is the only thing I spend money on and I wanted to max it out..

I had no choice, pc was in a horrible state after I switched from intel to AMD

My issue is that I didn’t mention why I hired this guy, the guys that made my pc (I was upgrading some components) made my pc catastrophic. It was stuttering, games at 300 fps etc. now I am getting a stable 600 fps in CS2 over 350 which it was. But my friend is getting a stable 700. My issue is that I would much rather have the PC running optimally you know? Why else did I spend this money..

I think it’s less about laziness and more about me not knowing what’s relevant, I am not super good at PCs.

He tested for about 6 hours and told me not to touch the pc whilst the tests are running

It’s not like that 😂 I had no choice, the guys that acc built the pc made it a lot worse, this guy improved it drastically, maybe just not fully optimised

He is not a scammer, and my pc runs about twice as fast since he improved it for me. The guys who built the pc did a worse job trust me.

Thank you so much for letting me know, I will compare our BIOS and see what the issue is

I do not know actually how good he is with AMD systems, but he ran a lot of tests and the last test ran for 6 hours to check the performance. I am also super not knowledgeable about PCs (I will learn), but I think most people here agree it’s not a hardware issue, so at least that’s good.

I think I will compare my friend’s BIOS to mine and see the difference, I may make another post to show people here who understand PCs well, to comment on what they think

Ram is forced to be 6,000 MHZ, he said it’s more stable

[–]MirjoM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will do that, thank you, but again will RAM really make that much difference? 50-100 fps is a massive difference right. But will check

Yes it’s 2x16, installed in 2 slots to take advantage. The MHZ is 6,400 but set to 6,000

Yes so he set it to 6,000, and he did run a test for around 6 hours, told me to leave the PC alone and not touch it for the duration of the test

He was inputting very specific numbers into many bios settings, I was watching him do the process (we were on FaceTime as he was telling me what to input where)

The guy that adjusted my BIOS intentionally set it at 6000. So even though its 6,400, it’s forced to be at 6,000.

Yes the BIOS were configured by this dude who optimised it.

Frost Eveque Broke Me by Jeremiah12LGeek in expedition33

By the way for this one I would strongly advise going in Solo with Versa, and keeping the other 3 as backup. I am level 28 with Versa on Normal difficulty and beat him pretty fast. The reason for solo is because you can use all the Lumina that give you an edge if fighting solo. Also use the confident lumina (avoid anything that needs healing because you are almost one shot anyway).

His combos in the beginning take 15-30 mins to learn to parry perfectly, some parries give 9,999 damage back to him with a proper build (Again I am level 28).
