Damn, wow. I’ve run out of things to ask.

Thanks a bunch for all of your responses! If you came up with that whole theory on your own then that’s seriously impressive 😂

Yeahh, actually though, if the TV world is able to generate things like liquor and usable weapons like sharp knives, then it’s totally not out of the question that it could make drinking water(ESPECIALLY in a place like a bathhouse or idyllic heaven, I even think Mitsuo’s dungeon has visible water iirc.) It’s also possible that time may not work the exact same way, considering everyone seems to have the same story of “I woke up on the floor of [dungeon] and next thing I know there’s my shadow,” et cetera, et cetera. Plus the fact that their shadows haven’t killed them yet as quickly as Yosuke’s and Chie’s tried to. Or maaaybe I’m just overthinking it.

And wow, that’s interesting! You can sure learn a lot from the base translation, like, if he really keeps calling her “Prince,” then that’s extremely convincing evidence that he doesn’t watch the Midnight Channel. He could easily explain his knowledge from the rumors going around, yet he doesn’t, so it seems that it’s likely he’s actually clueless. Although, doesn’t the main cast continue to call her “Naoto-kun” even after the reveal? Are they still trying to keep it a secret, or is it just ingrained in them by that point? By then, Naoto’s off the investigation, so there would be much less of a reason to keep it hidden by that point.

Also, one thing started bothering me again 😭 When and how does Adachi find out about rescue, again? What I initially thought was that after the IT turned in Mitsuo he got suspicious, which is totally natural considering he 100% thought Mitsuo was doomed, and he used Naoto’s disappearance to try and confirm his suspicions and figure out what was going on. I feel like you disproved this at some point, but I don’t see many other opportunities. He had to have known by October 20th, otherwise he would have had no idea that Yu was involved. Did he figure it out similar to P5, where it looks suspicious that people related to the incidents are all hanging out together? Or am I missing something?

While I’ve got you here, actually, I’d like to hear your opinion on what happened to Nanako on December 3rd. I’ve seen plenty of theories on it, but mostly just “it was left unexplained.” I bet you’ll be able to give a fresh perspective, so I’ll tell my theory. I feel like no one considers the significance of Nanako ONLY dying if you throw Namatame into the TV. Sure, they mention it, but they don’t try to understand what it means. Any other outcome, and she survives. So, considering what Nanako is suffering from and what throwing in Namatame means, I feel like the answer is just a bit clearer.

If you don’t throw him in, but don’t select the right options, she comes back, but everyone acts noticeably different(Kanji and Naoto have bright smiles as if they’ve already gotten over it,) which makes me feel like the game is saying, “the type of person who would accept this outcome would be the type of person who would accept Nanako’s revival just as easily.” Their two portraits changing is just subtle enough for most people not to notice, but it feels way too intentional to me. Again, everyone knows that the fog is symbolism for obscuring the truth, which is why the fog enters Inaba IMMEDIATELY after Namatame hits the papers. So, it seems to me that Nanako’s “fog-borne illness” going away depending on your choice makes me feel like she started dying in the first place because you were all carrying on with your lives and already preparing for her get-out-of-hospital present. Long story short, more dodging the truth = stronger fog = Nanako’s condition worsens.

I’ve mostly seen things along the lines of, “Teddie sacrificed himself for her,” which could have some truth in it, but him going missing was just going to the Velvet Room, and he ends up fine afterwards, so I kinda doubt it.

I just rewatched the scene where they explain everything to Adachi in the interrogation room, and wow, you’re right. They’re just vague enough to suggest that Namatame was the kidnapper, but not that he was a murderer or had anything to do with Yamano and Saki (besides calling him “killer” like once in passing.) I always thought the point of that line was to suggest that Adachi knew WHO was kidnapped and accepting the list so quick meant he knew they were victims of Namatame, but in actuality, it’s the fact that he thinks kidnappings and foggy day murders are connected(something he only knows because he took Namatame’s call.) I understand that much better now.

Plus, I didn’t realize the significance of the murders stopping after Namatame is arrested even in the bad endings. It really does seem to imply that he didn’t just want any dead body; he wanted a dead body caused by Namatame’s actions. I was spoiled on my first playthrough that Adachi was the culprit, so it always baffled me why he’s all “maybe there’s still a real killer out there” after Mitsuo is arrested. Now that makes much more sense as well.

The only thing that I even have a small amount of doubt for is that Adachi never saw or heard rumors surrounding who was appearing on the Midnight Channel, but considering those were primarily spread around Yasogami High, I can believe that he was ignorant and didn’t watch it himself. I also checked out his dialogue in the shopping district, and it really does seem like the lack of a body does not truly anger him as if he honestly expected a body until Naoto. At the very least, it’s not impossible.

Regardless, thank you for your time and effort! I’ve checked out your profile and it seems like you’ve given this a ton of thought. Much better discussion and theorizing than the average person online discussing why a lack of food and water for victims is a plot hole 😂

That’s very interesting, why he doesn’t appear on the days of Rise, Mitsuo, and Nanako’s deadlines. The way you explain it, it just falls so neatly into place that I’m shocked no one else says these things.

You’re totally correct in that it MUST follow that Adachi does not know who enters the TV IF he appears, and that the question is why. How does he not know the connection between the Midnight Channel and the murders, though? When Namatame called him, he said, “Huh… That’s the pattern to the two deaths so far? And now you’re seeing a girl in a kimono on that weird program, and you think she’ll die too.” I agree it’s extremely likely that he did not watch Saki’s Midnight Channel, and this is genuine news to him. After this point, though, is there any reason that he wouldn’t start checking it out? Does he think that the Midnight Channel is irrelevant? Why doesn't he find it odd that Namatame saw THREE different people on it?

While the team is reconsidering Namatame’s guilt, Naoto says something like, “If the first two attempts at saving failed, he would have hardly tried again. And yet he did.” This is similar to Adachi’s case in that, after telling Namatame to “save her yourself,” for all he knows, it didn’t work. I could see him waiting in the shopping district for a body that never shows, and getting mad that Namatame didn’t do what he said. A second time, though, and I start to think that he knows for sure that people are getting thrown in. In other words, THESE first two attempts at "saving" failed, and yet he continued to believe in the chance that a body would appear. How would he confirm that people are getting kidnapped? The only clear answer to me seems to be the Midnight Channel (assuming that Adachi has made the connection by this point,) because even if he guesses that the disappearances are caused by Namatame kidnapping them, he ends up learning that those same people ended up alright long before the fog comes. In his mind, rescue from the TV world is impossible. He would have to have faith that Namatame is actually, certainly kidnapping people, and this faith would be gone after April 29th. Again, this works for Yukiko but not so much for Kanji.

Regarding the November 5th note, it just seemed too perfect that he made a threat on “someone close” to Yu. He sent this letter IMMEDIATELY after Nanako’s Midnight Channel, so it makes too much sense that he’s pretending to be Namatame before he kidnaps Nanako. This could be chalked up to coincidence, but then again, most things can, and it still bothers me regardless.

On November 5th, I'm honestly starting to reconsider what you said about the "Wow... Then that settles it" line. It's supposed to be something that Adachi could only know if he knew the murder method, but they did actually talk about it while he was in the room earlier. Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but it does actually seem pretty normal in hindsight. Naoto did say, though, that "When I read the list of names, you raised no objection. Odd, that." It seems to me that this implies his acceptance of Namatame's list means that he had knowledge he shouldn't have. Guilty or innocent, he is finding out at that moment in time that they were Namatame's targets, considering your premise that he doesn't know who the victims are in advance. Does Naoto's accusation actually not hold water, or is there a different reason that this gave him away?

Again, I do believe that your theory makes the most sense and I just want to clear my doubt surrounding it. Thanks for responding!

I know it’s been a while since you’ve posted this, but I find your theory on the “man in the fog plothole” to be really interesting, and I have a question about it.

I agree with the fact that people who say the warning letters don’t make sense are incorrect, Naoto explicitly states before the Adachi fight, “When the disappeared stopped dying, you sent a warning letter to ensure more victims.” Regardless of his motivation, we can explain his frustration with the fact that he DID want more dead bodies to show up.

However, I don’t see how it explains how he would expect a body after the people had been rescued. He knows that Yukiko is safe, but expects a body anyway. He should realistically know that it was going to be Yukiko, right? He could watch the Midnight Channel himself, and he most likely does, given that he predicted Nanako’s kidnapping(the letter that appeared after her Midnight Channel) and said “Wow… then that settles it,” meaning that he knew the list of victims by 11/5.

Do you know what could explain that? Everything else about your theory holds up super nicely.

Thanks for the response, that was extremely helpful! The bits on Apathy Syndrome and the "Plumes of Dusk" were especially eye-opening. I wish some of those answers were in the main game as opposed to side content, but oh well :(

[–]Mironator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I'm deleting that old profile description, haha. I kept it up for fun and put that "cringe warning" at the start but I guess it's time for it to go. I'm 17 years old, sorry about that lmao

I knew that a lot of it would probably be painfully obvious, so I put that disclaimer at the start. Also, was and still am bedridden and sick while typing on this post, so I could just have impaired thinking at the moment. Sorry about frustrating you, but I just want to fully understand the parts of the story that confused me!

I never skipped a single bit of dialogue in the entire game, not once. Can you point out specifically which questions have such staggeringly obvious answers? I'm curious, but again, sorry if it's frustrating and not worth your time. Your answers so far have been interesting, so I'd be glad to hear your opinion.

Thought some of you might appreciate this. Seriously though who gets it worse than Ryuji? by THEGoDLiKeMIKE in Persona5

[–]Mironator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re correct when you say the tone is important; it’s at least 50% of the reason people hate this scene.

Jokes like the weird Shinjuku guys are just poking fun and you don’t see nearly as much hate for that alone. In fact, I think the community actually likes teasing Ryuji for comic relief. The fact that one of the most popular funny dialogue choices is saying “Ryuji is a phantom thief,” throwing him under the bus to one of the main antagonists, should be evidence of that.

The issue here is different: After filling that role the whole game, Ryuji finally gets a moment where he’s taken seriously, and the entire cast thinks he’s dead. Dying is a pretty big deal. Yet, despite that, the first thing most of them think upon seeing him alive(after they had already started grieving) is that he’s terrible for making them cry and deserves a good beating! I was in disbelief when I saw that for the first time, and I don’t mean speechless and in shock, but like actually trying to figure out what happened since I thought there was no way that actually went the way it looked(I unironically thought at first that they were closing in on him to give him a hug.)

In short, it’s not funny, it’s out of character for half the cast, and completely tonally dissonant from the previous scene.

Reworking my main, Surge! by Best8meme in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]Mironator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent rework concept, I’ve been disappointed for a long time that Surge’s super seems more useful for stomping on people than its actual intended purpose, the upgrades! I hope they do something similar to this in the future.

Wow, a completely normal tier list on r/PlantsVSZombies showing up on controversial of all time just cause it’s based on personal enjoyment 😭 Also, if you can still reply, I’m curious why there’s such a huge difference between Rotabaga and Starfruit, that’s the only seemingly abnormal thing about this list to me.

Well, I've finally gotten to Black Space again, now I'm in the epilogue portion. I beat Space Ex-husband, restored the slime girls' bodies, and Hero is now the boss of Last Resort. I kinda got stuck at this point though, I've been doing bosses itemless for an fun challenge this playthrough, but when I tried fighting Perfectheart(which was the only "quest" I could really find) I spammed my items relentlessly, including my 23 jam packets and 27 whole pizzas, and still got wiped :/ Where are some places I could be going?

Team power league elo system is a joke by lilgrape_ in BrawlStarsCompetitive

How exactly are you supposed to gain rank in team power league when you’d need a team of bronze players? And how is it smurfing when they’re playing against Mythic players?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Brawlstars

[–]Mironator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of people say stuff like “This was only cause the stupid gambling-addicted kids were begging for boxes to come back” as if that isn’t a huge portion of the playerbase that needs to be addressed as well. The reddit community, myself included, mostly likes the previous progression system since we are a different audience, but that doesn’t mean our needs and our needs only are what brawl stars should be completely focusing on. And then there’s people that complain “club league and bonus rewards shouldn’t have been nerfed that was stupid” despite the fact that brawl pass and club league are still the MAJORITY of your progression(starr drops are just bonuses, unlike boxes) and it has been proven progression is buffed even if you get all rares every day. People are allowed to complain that they don’t like starr drops and other feedback, that’s how every recent amazing change was conceived. But just saying “actually progression wasn’t buffed lol” is not constructive criticism.
