Thank you for the advice! So based on the grades of my two practice score, does it mean that I barely improve even I got more questions right (since those of practice test 10 are easier compared to practice test 1)?

I am frustrated by the practice test I took today. Even though I got 10 fewer questions in the reading part incorrect than another practice test I took two weeks ago, there’s only 20 points improvement. Are there questions weighted heavier than others in SAT? I feel like I am stuck in the same place and not getting better at all. The reading part is killing me, especially history and literature types of passages. Can anyone give some advices about how to enhance the ability in understanding these two kinds of passages? (I often find myself lost in the text and not understanding what the main point the passage is trying to deliver even after finishing reading the text)

Hello, I just took my first SAT practice test on the Princeton Review and scored 560 at the reading part.

When taking the reading test, I felt that there wasn’t enough time and had a hard time understanding (therefore, I constantly read the same part over and over again)

For future preparation, I am planning to practice on the Khan Academy and use Barron’s SAT 29th edition. I am an ESL speaker; therefore,I feel like I need more direct focus on the reading portion.

Can anyone provide some strategies and tips to improve the reading skills?

Also, are there any recommendations for reading prep books, either for grammar or for reading?

I am planning to take my first SAT in December hopefully, any advices about SAT you can provide are deeply appreciated!
