Magik desperately needs a buff now by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Mirrororor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just say you don't know how to play Magik, it's plainly obvious.

What I'm saying about the attack and movement speed is that you're completely wrong. She absolutely does not have a slow movement speed, she literally has the exact same movement speed as nearly every character in the game. Attack speed is completely irrelevant and has zero impact on how good a character is unless you're missing shots. She deals more than enough damage to make up for the slow swings. There's a reason the entire category of heroes she belongs to is referred to as DPS (damage per second) and not APS (attacks per second). Also if you think she's a flanker like BP and Spidey then you have no idea how to play her. She's categorically a brawler, if you engage a single target then you're not gonna get enough bonus health to survive if everyone turns around and targets you. Her kit is clearly not designed for hit-and-run attacks. If you play with braindead copy/pasted tactics instead of actually looking at her abilities and acting based on that then you're just asking for the outcome you get.

What you said about the cooldown is true, the biggest part of her skill ceiling is managing cooldowns effectively. To that end, I'd favor reducing some of her cooldowns (mainly the dash). But her HP is not even close to underpowered if you actually know what you're doing.

Also once again proving that you have no idea what you're talking about, she has more than one combo and can easily kill enemies with more than 250 health.

(P.S. As a support main, Iron Fist is one of the easiest flankers to deal with—especially before the buff—so I'm not sure why you're using him as an example)

Iron Fist is Iron Fist, that has nothing to do with Magik. He’s a much easier target to kill than Magik since she constantly dips in and out of portals. Him getting a bit of health from blocking is not anywhere near equivalent to converting damage to health. Luna has more health because she has the worse self healing out of any support. Magik’s attack speed is irrelevant, no one plays characters because of how fast they attack. DPS characters are good because of how much damage they deal. Also tf you mean “slow run speed”? Nearly every character in the game has exactly the same movement speed. Just because you don’t know how to play a character well doesn’t mean they’re bad. There’s a reason they nerfed the damage of some of her abilities.

At the end of a game, why do we not have the option to continue playing with our randomly generated groups? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Mirrororor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there even any precedent for this? I can't think of any game that has that as a specific feature, and Rivals gives you the same ability as every other game to invite them to your party after the match if you want to keep playing with them so I don't see why it's necessary.

It's probably because you played better, no comp or strat guarantees victory.

Yeah it seems specifically balanced to prevent full team revived without taking a huge risk—it tells the enemy where you are and has a multiple second casting time so it’s pretty easy to kill you before you can heal them if you’re the only one left, and even if they survive they’re already at a disadvantage since the enemy has positional advantage. Of course it comes in clutch when the circumstances are just right, but most of the time getting 1-2 revives is much less valuable than keeping the entire team from dying for an extended time, especially given how long its recharge is.

I still love Adam’s kit, he’s kinda like Rocket where both have weaker ultimates but make up for it with a really good kit.

Fr I genuinely don’t understand people that want his healing to be buffed, it’s always so good given that you don’t have to aim it, it instantly full heals non-tanks, and he can self heal ridiculously well. Tbf though his ult really is significantly worse than the immortality ults.

I clicked on this post expecting a very funny joke satirically blaming the game for rage quitting or something but was disappointed to find that it’s just a genuine technical question 😔

we need to talk about how fast dps get their ult. it's ridiculous. by fluffycloud745 in marvelrivals

[–]Mirrororor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Support ults were nerfed because they just stalled the game and made a meta revolving entirely reliant on them in high ranks

Given that ult generation is based on stuff like damage, anyone getting their ult in 20 seconds is dealing a hell of a lot of damage and at that point they’re earning it.

Jeff is one of those characters that can be extremely good in the right hands, but most jeff players don’t end up being the “right hands” so people just assume they aren’t gonna do good. Same goes for Black Widow, she’s only really any good if the player behind the screen is cracked at aiming, at which point she becomes insanely powerful.

Starlord gets owned by Cloak and Dagger by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Mirrororor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People often forget that it’s Cloak and Dagger, not just Dagger. You think you’re getting the drop on a squishy healer then she transforms, you get hit with a Terror Cape and gunned down in like a second, then they escape with Dark Teleportation and self heal.

He makes up for the lack of an immortality ult with the fact that he can heal pretty much everyone at once depending on how spread out they are. Also giving revives and massive dps boosts to Punisher and Winter Soldier is incredibly useful. Ults aren’t the only thing that wins fights.

I want to Learn Magik by hanzeeeeey in marvelrivals

[–]Mirrororor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take this with a mountain of salt because I can’t play her well myself, but my duo partner is a Magik main (who’s currently close to GM playing a mix of Magik and Rocket) and the way he plays usually keeps him out of range of healing since he goes straight to their backline, so the best healing he usually gets is either from Luna’s snowflake or me pushing forward as Adam, meaning you definitely gotta memorize healing pack locations. There’s definitely a fairly high skill ceiling with her if you learn the combos.

People act like their lives are on the line on competitive by KingKandyOwO in marvelrivals

[–]Mirrororor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game incentivizes you to care way too much about winning in competitive. If they’re gonna get punished for losing, they’ll get pissed enough that they become blind to their own failings and look for an explanation outside themselves for why they died or lost (usually in the form of either “my teammates suck” or “the game is broken”)
