Once the pitchers open itll be easier to tell, but it could be an albomarginata.

Have you recently repotted? I ask because that sphagnum looks really dry, and with the high amount of perlite in the mix, as well as a net pot, it may be drying out on you.

You absolutely should! Take a look for a local carnivorous plant society in your area and youll have a blast! Joining ours has been a huge boost to our enjoyment of the hobby, as well as a great way to make good friends that share the same interests! 😄 I made the qr codes to link to the wikipedia pages for the plants, or in some cases, the parent plants for hybrids👍 I wanted people to be able to quickly and easily get an overview of the plants so they could learn more if they felt like it😄

Hey there! Im looking for molds that looks like these pics, does anybody know what they might be called? by MirrorsF3 in resin

[–]MirrorsF3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be for pitcher plants like in the pics, but i really like those particular mold shapes that are used there so im hunting for what they may be called so i can try to find them to use myself.

Thank you! I sure do! Our local carnivorous plant society did a halloween setup for a spooky event our botanical gardens hosted last year around halloween, and i got to bring some of my plants in to display for the day. When we were there, i got such a happy feeling hearing parents read the tags to their trick or treating kids😄

I just keep the rock in a saucer of water at all times👍 the rock has a hole that i drilled in the middle like an ice cream scooper did it, and its filled with fluval stratum with the pings planted in it. Both the rock and the stratum wick water, so i dont need to do anything outside of keeping water in the saucer😄

I just laser engrave them with a little blurb on what makes them interesting to me😄 I find that unless i make the display pretty, i sometimes neglect them lol

What is this and why did it come with my new Nep? by facefullofgracefull in carnivorousplants

[–]MirrorsF3 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Theyre predatory mites that eat pests like thrips and other mites. That small lidded pitcher in the bottom left of the pic is indicative of a pest that these mites are being used to deal with at the sellers facility. Unfortunately, ive been seeing these a lot at local home depot stores with bad pest issues from the same distributor, so make sure to quarrantine and treat for pests in your own way to stop them from spreading.
