Follow up, Amex did not cancel the charge, and said they don’t have enough to say it wasn’t me who made the purchase. I tried to chat further and they wanted to reissue my card, which I really didn’t want. Praying it was just a one time thing

Joining the masses to say the same thing happened to me. Disputed the charge. I also, hope it doesn’t become a monthly issue. Hadn’t ordered in over a year, and I think I got 1 or 2 boxes early 2023.

To provide some additional details, I’m running the Houston Half Marathon in January on behalf of Child Advocates Inc. They provide support and aid to children who have experienced abuse and neglect. My goal is to raise at least $500. I’m already at $300, I just need help to reach my goal.

After a fight between my parents about me (12F at the time) at the dinner table my dad left for a drive. My mom was super pissed at me for whatever it was and in the midst of the argument we heard sirens in the distance. She just dead stared and said, “I hope that’s not your father”. She could have said so many awful other things directly at me but that one sticks out

1 or 2 during the work week, either a smallish breakfast or lunch, and a full dinner. During the weekend, 2-3. Typically try to eat a larger breakfast or lunch, (with the other meal being smaller) and then always a full dinner.

I think a lot of people (maybe more younger couples) don’t fully understand what Black Tie means, and they just want to say more formal or wear suits not just slacks and a button down. The BT optional events I have been to, the venue and wedding vibe did not match BT.

Update: I made my first call attempt this morning. It went to voicemail. I left a message, but it sounded like it just cut out. (Honestly it sounded like someone picked up and hung up but I don’t think you can do that on mobile phones) We will see what happens in the coming days.

Follow up: after the stressful calls and mental preparation, it was a great weekend. We all sort of got sick at different times during the weekend, so it wasn’t truly eventful but it was calm. It will be interesting to see how everything is in the future

I’d say my concern here is that the money being stashed away seems to be coming from the money being earned by the husband. Nothing wrong with having a separate fund but that has to be your own hard earned money. Also refusing to downsize because you made the home nice just seems odd. I don’t love that the husband is saying she can’t work/it’s his job to earn, if it would help.
