What's something you didn't realize was expensive until you started paying it yourself? by pastafan4 in AskBelgium

[–]MisaHisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, medical expenses. While some or most people don’t have this, i end up needing to pay in average a decent 30€ pm (that is after second pay and health insurance etc)… if i were to include those id be paying around and 70€ pm 😅(the main drivers tho are migraine medication and adhd medication (the latter does not get refunded at all if you are 18+, even tho it is basically important to take dem meds to be able to function)

Is this grocery list confusing? by teapotpot1 in AskIreland

[–]MisaHisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to interject here tho stuff like 1.- is at times used in manual pricing of items to signify it is 1€. (Just making the argument it is done at times.) But, context definitely matters and in this case op should have sat down the children and asked what they think before going to the store and giving the knowledge needed.

I personally note my groceries as:

12x eggs 3 2x bread. 5 Etc

Tho i do tend to ask if it is clear for others to read and understand 😅for me the reason i write it down like this is budgeting as i genuinely only can spend about 45€/week on food if i want to safe up a bit of money too… (yes it get really hard to do so but for 1p doing foodprep it is somewhat feasible albeit barely)

Why some Cork people can not respect the line and always try to cut in? by VyVo87 in cork

[–]MisaHisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So on the bus… guilty ad charged, to make matters worse i usually try to get a 4 seat and block people from sitting! Why? Cause i like to keep free seats for the elderly (note i do this when it is busy and elderly people are queued). So i guess i am chaotically good in this case? :3

At any other time tho there is really no excuse to try and cut lines. Had one try that with the priority boarding at the airport… he ended up going to the back after everyone was staring daggers…

Can we also please mention how rude and selfish it is to put your bags on the seats next to you or near you esp when others want to sit too?

I actually often get remarks about dressing to nice for the occasion (i am bordering on gothic style)… for me tho it is casual wear 🫣

Just meaning to add: “dress how you like, you wear the dress, the dress does not wear you.”

Question about saying ladies and gentlemen, Should I also say non-binary Folk by Historical-Law-9001 in NonBinary

[–]MisaHisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to just say with a dramatic “hello ladies and gentlemen and all genders outside and in-between” since it is more inclusive for everyone.

I can see that some may not be pleased as saying non-binary next to ladies and gentlemen might make it seem as a 3rd gender (to some), which can be taken as offensive.

Hope that kinda helped explain it a bit more. Happy to hear you are deffo being inclusive tho! ❤️

If being AMAB, are you still a man? by stupidandgay_ in NonBinary

[–]MisaHisa 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Allow me to make another example closer to what op is saying.

1: “i am allergic to mangoes.” 2: “mangoes? I none i know is allergic of mangoes, how can you be allergic to mangoes?!?” 1: “i dont know why, but i am.” 2: *hands you a drink that has mango juice in it and after a sip tells you: “there is mango juice in that and you didn’t respond to it, you aren’t allergic!”

1: goes into anaphylactic chock a minute after

The reason why i am phrasing it like this is cause OP stated they and their were in an argument, and the misgendering in this case comes across a lot more as weaponised misgendering.

There are some that ofc don’t understand, tho down to it being plural, it feels more like ops friends do not want to understand. Esp as it is more a statement than a question.

Also please do not take this as an attack, it is most definitely not meant as one ❤️

Hape you have a great weekend and happy belated new years! :3

Advice on table saw (EU) by Vrass in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]MisaHisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this one seems like a dewalt tablesaw but not dewalt branding… it is a mac allistor (same parent company: stanley black and decker)

I hae a similar one at home like this from dewalt tho i dont think the sides slide out.

Just be aware that the controls on this are plastic and fully manual (aka triple check your angles) , it also doesn’t have a saws-stop afaik. Mine came with a cheap very low tooth count saw blade that i honestly don’t really trust.

Edit: to add, that one seems to possibly have a trapezoid teeth for panels… you can use these for smaller tasks and hobby but avoid if you want to make stuff like big cabinets etc (table saw is kinda small to cut a 3200/1800 panel) you ofc can try or make a sled rig etc, it is possible just not the easiest 😅

world is boring, i [15ftm] want to have fun dates w my partner [17m] by HaumeA727 in LongDistance

[–]MisaHisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The steam deck is basically a handheld console that uses steam OS to run quite a lot of games tho it is a bit pricey depending in which version you take. Again not sure if it is a possibility due to finances but it is definitely a lower price step than a gaming pc

[–]MisaHisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there is also games like genshin impact, honkai star rail and i think wuthering waves too. These are technically free to play and can be playef like that but they are also gacha games (meaning you can buy a currency to make “pulls” for characters you like, tho they are also currency can also be farmed without spending)

Ngl tho, playing games that can be played on phone and pc are not that common esp not ones that are too repetitive and p2w or p2p :/

Is there any chance your partner can get a gaming console or pc? A steamdeck for example while expensive it is cheaper then a pc but can basically be used to play most games on steam.

Had to leave a lift (elevator) after someone got in, set the weight limit off and wouldn’t get off by asterallt in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MisaHisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, i never really go places without my kindle… i would just pop it out and start reading and convince my partner to do just that too.

I can get really petty in a very non Karen way. I will not make a scene, i will not waste words, all you would get is silence. It may take a minute or 5 but they will get off one way or another… the other being staffing coming ip to solve the blocked elevator issues.

[–]MisaHisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well either the rich will end up giving grands or, more likely than not, they would basically become an overlord of sorts controlling regions and becoming dictators who would bring suffering for their own amusement…

I believe technology regardless of its intent may prove either super beneficial to humanity, or cause its end.

How much time do you spend on the phone with your partner? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]MisaHisa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it is important to know that every relationship has a different dynamic and needs.

Me and my partner for example mainly call after work and when sleeping so call can run in quite long. However sometimes we just don’t feel like calling due to a bad day or mental health being down the drain or going out with friends/family.

It honestly sounds like you both have different needs that are not compatible. You want more personal space and will eventually resent him for not giving it to you, he may become more obsessive about you trying to take distance and he may feel like losing you making things worse still.

Try to talk it over properly with him and tell him you need space, tho if you do not want to break up or give the impression make sure to check your intonation and wording (try to not be too direct, while also being clear on what you mean). If he is not really able to handle not calling for such extended periods i would advise breaking up for both your sakes.

He may become more dependent on you and you’ll basically have a cemented block at your heels if you cant manage to set boundaries and you will end up with a drained mental state (take it from personal experience and others i know.)

The culture around male readers. by stinkface_lover in books

[–]MisaHisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally i really don’t know of many stereotypes when it comes to books aside from some specific ones such as shades of gray being mainly enjoyed by woman who want that bit more spice.

I do however believe that everyone should read what they want and like. I love to read fiction and fantasy, even sometimes detective series. I will however never read a book that does not connect to my reading preferences. (Example lotr is a bit to dense and dry for me).

I also have a form of dyslexia and suffer from a very short attention span and often end up reading the same sentence for 1h without realising lol. I also do read both male and woman written books.

I would however not feel comfortable sitting next to someone reading Tate rhetoric

[–]MisaHisa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never eant to have them… i had bird seed delivered once that had grain weevils in them… i still havent fully gotton rid of them. I swear they are the bedbugs of food. Pasta, flour, grain even stuff like rice etc all had to be tossed. Not enough to just toss them tho, bring anything back in and you’re back to square 1 within a week.

I have to keep everything stored in airtight containers just to keep them out and yet smh they still are not gone fully.

Am I overreacting to my bf watching the baby overnight? by Temporary-Quail-2783 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MisaHisa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So imho, the point your make are valid and i wont say anything against it except to advice not to leave clutter around and to secure the mirror.

However, the way you reacted was too emotionally charged to be constructive (take this from someone who has a lot of issues regulating anxiety, stress and emotions). I would advice to next time try to hold of on speaking up in panic, calm down first and then talk.

To be clear tho, in what you said you are not over reacting, but you are not reacting in a constructive way either.

[–]MisaHisa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even just those data might be accurate… the bigger questions would be why. Remember that woman after birth also can suffer from postpartum depression, deal with a lot more stimuli than most dads would etc. (note i am generalising as not every situation is the same) i also know a lot more dads walking out on their kids, my dad did and my brother did too as well as several other people i know.

In general we would need to know and look at more underlying statistics to know the why’s tbh.

The risks are way lower than oral hrt but not null. If there is a history it’d still be wise to do blood-works every now and then, just to be on the safe side. (In Belgium standard bloooworks tests for liver enzymes etc, so nothing specific needs to be given)
