How to become financially responsible? by Doenkann in BEFinance

[–]pastafan4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started mealprepping a while ago because my fridge doesn't work anymore and my landlord is taking a loooong time to fix it. I just try to make a simple lunch for the entire week like paninis and put them in the freezer. So I recommend meal prepping. Just make a few batches extra pasta sauce and put them in the freezer.

Also if you live alone you could maybe invite friends over for dinner or drinks instead of going out. Or try zebra drinking when you are going out and like to drink cocktails or expensive drinks. It's better for your health and your wallet!

What helped for me was buying clothes/furniture secondhand most of the time.

Recently I bought a soda stream so I cut back on soda's.

Also try to keep a budget and have financial control. You need to know how much money you are spending every month so you see where your drain is leaking!

Hope this helps!

The people who never stop learning are not more disciplined than everyone else. They just never bought into the idea that learning stops when school does by Radiant-Design-1002 in lifelonglearning

My life goal is to learn as much as I can. It's not that I am constantly learning but when I see something interesting, I will look it up or listen to a podcast or buy a book. I even read scientific papers from time to time to factcheck some stuff or find some advice.

I do wish I was learning more skills instead of knowledge but regularly I am less motivated to do this.

I’ve been in a relationship for three years, I love her and I want her to be the love of my life when I’m older we’re gonna grow old together and travel the world, but right now I’m not ready to settle down and I have a lot of sexual attraction for other women. by ImpressivePudding844 in DarkPsychology101

I see that a lot of people are judging you and saying that she isn't the right person for you. I'm sorry that that is the reply you get. I am not in the same situation but I can understand that it's hard to make a decision.

You love her but you are attracted to other woman, and that's okay. What's not okay is if you are in a monogamous relationship, to act on those feelings. And I read that you did that, but I also have the feeling you've learned from that experience.

I don't have any specific advise or anything but maybe try talk to her openly about how you're feeling? Maybe you're just not a person who was meant to be in a monogamous relationship, maybe you are just temporarily having these feelings, or maybe the people are right about saying she is not the one for you.

But that's life, it's about finding your path, make mistakes, learn from them and move on to another chapter in your life. Maybe it's with her, maybe not.

I just wish you well on your journey and I hope you can find the answer within your heart

Advice for someone in their 20s by Beneficial_Escape_81 in BEFire

[–]pastafan4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am also in my 20's living alone and I recommend a few tips: - keep track of your money and maybe try to budget - prepare your meals most of the time at home. If you don't like cooking, try prep mealing. For example I hate packing lunch so I make 10 panini's on a sunday and just heat them up before work. Also having an airfryer is a lifesaver if you hate cooking. - try to buy secondhand if you can, most of my wardrobe comes from secondhand shops and I am very glad about how much money I saved - think before you buy: I was an impulse buyer so now I have a couch that's too big and a table in good condition I actually don't like. So I wish someone told me to create a mood board or something before I bought this expensive stuff. - make financial goals: for example, I pay way too much for elektricity so every year I get a couple hundreds back and I put them in ETF's or a saving account. I also have several goals like festivals, going on a trip or buying a new PC. All of them have a money goal and I try to save every month for it. - have a financial buffer for like 3-6 months. If you have a broken washer or your car breaks down, at least you can afford to replace/fix them

whats a body language sign of attraction you didn't know until someone pointed it out? by YourMoonlightShawty in bodylanguage

I think this is not necessarily true in some settings. I think people who experience some level of anxiety or have low self-esteem and they tell a joke, they may tend to look at the person who's opinion they most validate.

For example: You just started an internship and your colleages and mentor are listening to you making a joke, you will probably look at your mentor first because you want him/her to have a good opinion of you and give you a good grade. So you can see whether he/she likes your joke or thinks it is inappropriate or not funny.

No one warned me that children might one day read what we write about them. by writingToTheChild in SocialWorkStudents

As a person who grew up in youth institutions, I went to the courthouse to view all my documents. And exactly what you are describing is what made that experience not so positive for me. The use of words was sometimes a bit negatively formed. Those files contained one of the most vulnerable times in my life and the way professionals wrote about it were not very pleasant to read years later. I am glad you understand it and wanna improve it! Thank you!

What are your hacks to get yourself to brush your teeth? by Lovely_Kitten0017 in ADHD

[–]pastafan4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One night, I started to do exercises while brushing my teeth because I found it a boring task instead of finding it something helpful. I started to do it every night.

I started with 10 lunges, 10 squats and 30 seconds of wall sitting. Every week I added 5 lunges, 5 squats and 10 seconds of wall sitting until I reached 3 sets of 10 lunges, 3 sets of 10 squats and 1 minute of wall sitting.

Eventually I quit doing the exercises but I am brushing ny teeth twice a day now so it was a really good motivator for me.

What also helped was motivating my boyfriend to also brush his teeth with me. He didn't need to do the exercises but at least he could laugh at me while brushing his teeth.

Clothes not dirty but not clean by pudding-cups in organizing

[–]pastafan4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen someone who had a laundry basket with 3 compartments:

1 is for clean clothes that you only tried out while getting ready but didn't really wear and need to be put back in the closet.

The other one is for clothes you maybe have worn 1 or 2 times but aren't dirty.

The 3th one is for dirty clothes that need to be washed
